Tal-n asked me to post here letting everyone know he is currently banned. Not sure if its temporary or what.

Any Moderator have a status on this matter that I can pass on to him?

Any idea why this happened?

Did he get a message saying he was banned or can he just not get on the boards? There were people having trouble getting on the forums the past 24 hours.

Tal-N was probably banned forcreating coherent, precise, and knowledgeableposts regarding the BE class. It was only a matter of time before this heathen was put in his place...

Ok, sarcasm off now. I certainly hope this is not a true ban. Tal-N has been such a major part of the BE forum, at least for me. Hopefully its a glitch or something.

Most likely he posted something that was not taken very well.

You can get a 24 hour ban if you say....post on a topic and put too much sarcasm in your post.

You can also get a 24-hour ban if you decided to post a huge complaint about something and point out some super holes in something, on a topic that is basically saying how great something is.

How do I know You ask?

Most of the Moderators and Development Team Taking care of the Forums seem to be nice people...but like anyone its easy to become annoyed.

Wierd, never seen him post anything that would warrent a ban.

I think he did pinpoint how to exploit the DNA system and perhaps posting that got him a ban because the banner misunderstood why it was posted and didn't realize he's been a the head of the parade for not using the exploit in question.

Odd he shows as Online for status... unless the forums read your status in game, in addition to being "Online" in the forums.

I have run forums where we had a ban that would make you read only. I suspect he can read and not post, Sumo.

My guess is a rant or showing people how to create "bugged" pets. Seems like a nice person to me. One of the major contributors as well. I bet he will be back. He has done to much here to get a perminant ban.

That's not cool. I as well as many others here of course get valuable information on how our profession works from Tal-N and many of the other knowledgable Bio's. Bad judgement call csr's.

I've had some minor disagreements with Tal-N but I have to say that I can only hope that I've been as well behaved in those disagreements as he was. I truly hope this was a mistake and that we'll see him posting again here soon. I've never seen him post anything even moderatly deserving of being banned.

Maybe if someone gets one stared enough they get banned? If so, if someone gives out enough one stars their account should be canciled.

Does this mean the Kam bug is actually been officially declared exploit? He would get banned for posting details on an exploit (which his post detailed the Kam bug).

I would hazard a guess that he posted the clear and concise instructions for making the uber nonCH pets one too many times and they banned him for that since you are not supposed to expose the mechanics of an exploit on the public forums. Its not like any BE worth half his merit didn't already figure it out on his own in the first few days anyway. I mena Dath and Endor and the best 2 planets for sampling DNA and the nocuous kamuriths and kamurith defilers are all over the place and easy sampling targets. I stumbled acorss it using the two kamurith DNAs trying to figure out how to get special attacks from differnt DNA to combine together. Tal did this to help inform the community what the bug was and how big of an impact it is having on game balance in general. Anyway, thats my guess on the issue...
