I've finally come up with the best macro for Surveying. It's extremely short and very simple. Give it a try! Let me know if you have any problems with it and I'll be more than happy to help.

/stand;

/sample;

/pause 390;

/sit;

/pause 210;

/ui action toolbarSlot22

Now all you have to do is put the macro in your Shift+F11 slot on your toolbar, activate the macro, and it will repeat itself all day long until you move the macro to a different slot on your toolbar.

I forgot to mention a little about the /ui action toolbarSlot22 command. If you want to put your macro in a different slot, just change the number accordingly.

F1=0 SHIFT+F1=12

F2=1 SHIFT+F2=13

F3=2 SHIFT+F3=14

F4=3 SHIFT+F4=15

F5=4 SHIFT+F5=16

F6=5 SHIFT+F6=17

F7=6 SHIFT+F7=18

F8=7 SHIFT+F8=19

F9=8 SHIFT+F9=20

F10=9 SHIFT+F10=21

F11=10 SHIFT+F11=22

F12=11 SHIFT+F12+23

This macro allows me to use all of my action while sampling. But since everyone has different stats, it's up to you to determine how long of a pause in your macro you need to be able to get the most out of sampling. The last line in the macro activates whatever you have in your Shift+F11 ToolBar slot. That's where I keep my sampling macro, so all it actually does is start it over. This is how the loop works and it keeps your macro short and easy. This will also allow you to stop your macro by simplymoving the macro to another slot on your ToolBar. When you do this, and the macro reaches the last line, it will stop since you no longer have anythingin the Shift+F11ToolBar Slot. Hope that clears it up some...

I Found this extremely useful - might need a small bit of tweaking depending who you are, but still works great

This is the best macro ever! It basically solves copy/pasting everything and making your macro really long. I used it and was able to sample all day and most of the morning until they took the servers down for maintenance. Thanks for the tip!!!

Pure genius! Especially important, to me anyway, is the fact that you can move what's in that slot and stop the macro! I'm at work so I can't try it now...but if it works then much thanks in advance!

This is elegant, and quite functional.

Just keep in mind folks, that your account can be banned for doing this - at least understand the risks and consequences of your actions.

I use macros to survey when I'm at home, playing the game. I am never away from the keyboard more than 10 minutes. I am afraid if I leave my computer running when I'm not there, it might start a fire--it has been known to shut itself down from time to time while playing Galaxies, because my vid card heats up. How exactly is using this macro to automate surveying going to get me banned?

Only using it when you are not playing is against the TOS - as long as you are around to respond to any messages a CSR might send your way - you'd be fine.

They just don't want folks setting it going and letting it run all day while they are at work or while they are sleeping. :-) (like someone above mentionedthey did .. hehe)

Well, I can't say that I'd do that even if my computer wasn't a fire hazard. Once I left the macro going and took a nap, I woke up and had been incapacitated twice. I guess that's why so many AFK'ers hang out in the city proper. But since I've put up harvesters I've found that it's much MUCH easier using harvesters than AFK macroing, even if it isn't free.
