Hey, I'm a Artisan who is trying to climb the ladder for Weaponsmith. I am just curious if anyone has discovered a non repetitive way to gain Crafting XP constantly. I would really like to keep gaining lvls, but i dont want to craft teh same items over and over and over...

If anybody wants to reach me, I'll be on Wanderhome server, Naboo, under Kwil'kileck Slider

it's called grinding, and if you want to do it remotely close to fast you need to just keep making the same things over and over again (grinding)

If you wanna lvl quik, craft powerups. They only cost 10 resources, 6 min and 4 chem, but give you 40 exp each. thats a 4 to 1 exp value!

I've been making traps, which is working well. Making the traps gives me crafting xp, using the traps gives me trapping xp, killing the creatures and harvesting gives me scouting xp and plenty of hides and bones to make more traps. So the cycle repeats.

There is no "easy" crafting exp per se...the lower tiers are alot faster to get thru thats for sure... If you are haeded to WSmith I would start collecting every drop of metal you can and get used to the fact that you will be doing what you are doing now making the same item over and over only multiply that by 1000.

Also set yourself for the fact that once you get novice Wsmith nothing you can make in that tier will be sellable to anyone except maybe a sword IF you can make one with some good stats.

You will have no market at all until you get your first Tier 1 level. Not to try and make you go another route just trying to get you ready for whats to come. However once you do get that first lvl 1 skill you will start to realize some profit and see the fun once again in making something really nice that someone else is going to love using...till you start wanting the next level that is...

I agree with beecharmer. Crafting is 10% hard work, 90% repetition

Allow me to say one thing...once you reach weaponsmith, the exp isn't going to start coming any faster....unless you get a few factories up and running 'n such

One thing that worked for me - offer to make bone armor for people for free if they give you the bone and hide. There are usually a bunch of scouts with bone and hide and nothing to do with it. You'll need a stockpile of fiberplast and steel but you'll get 300-400 points of crafting experience for the major pieces of armor.

My advise would be to make a Scout/Artisan/Medic and go out and hunt ouside the cities. Scouts get the schematics to make Traps and Camp Kit's (you'll use a lot of these and the experience with really mount up) and the ability to harvest leather, meat and bones from animals they kill while Medics can make healing Stimpacks. I made a Scout to work towards Creature Handler and I found I was getting so many general crafting points that I was at Level 4Engineering and Level 4 Surveying just from the side work.

You'll also find this is a lot less mind numbing than getting into the grind of buying your resources, fiddling with menus to make stuff, selling it at a loss or giving it away because no one really knows what they need or want to pay yet and never seeing any of the big bold worlds you bought the game to see.

My two cents.

I was doing the crafting powerups routine, and it worked well with little resources and gaining 40xp each. But when I gain Engineering III it seems that the XP for crafting powerups has dropped to 20. Has this happened for anyone else?

I enjoy grinding on some fireworks every now and then...just for the heck of it. Then, when your inventory is full you can give one helluva show that night. I've actually been tipped a fair amount for the fireworks show...every little bit helps!

Confirmed that crafting powerups now give only 20 xp per, with Eng IV anyways.
