i have repaired clothing, weapons, armour etc... and what seems like more times than not, i fail the repair completley and the item "falls apart" (negative condition).. but with this one Kryted and Sliced Laser Rifle that I got back in October of last year or somewhere around there, I've repaired it like 6 times at least, and each time from what I remember I completley succeed, meaning it says "you repair the item with only minor blemishes"... is there some part of the weapons stats when weaponsmiths make it that controls how easy it is to repair? or was it just luck? (all i have is novice artistan with 3 boxes in surveying)

I have no idea if there's something WS's can do to affect this, but I do know the T21 I'veused to grind mokk and piket missions for a month now has been repaired 3 times with reduced condition, and 7 or 8 with minor blemishes. Its condition is down to 295/351 and I take a SS of it every time before I try to fix it in case it breaks so I can post the pic of "My most faithful gun". When it does finally die its definitely earned a place of honor in my gun collection, and will be displayed till I leave the game. The gun came in a crate order, the order was 750k for a crate of 25. That one gun out of the bunch (which wasn't even the best slice) has easily earned me 10-15mil (I've lost track...) just from mission payouts.

As far as i know, the only thing you can do to enhance your chance is by getting skill tapes. They DO have reparing skill tapes believe it or not.... pretty weird

I have a crafting station in my warehouse/shop for Ranger stuff (you can experiment on Camo). I have found that getting a top-quality repair tool and standing next to the station vastly improves good repair chances. I had a T21 that was at 200/840 and got it to 805/805 and a sliced E11 that was 350/875 to 850/850. Tool was a +15 and the crafting machine was average (can't remember that stat).

Use this same repair tool away from a crafting station and I ether destroy the weapon or badly maul it. Every time.

Could be mistaken, but I believe that you only get the Edit option if you are a "Community Veteran," which is dependent on the number of posts. He is a Community Member, so he may not have it yet.

they seemed to have changed repairing for some reason.

there seem to be 3 states.

fully repaired, repaired with less condition, broke.

no matter what i do, i can onlyt repair something once. its either repaired or repaired with loss. next time i go to repair it it breaks

Weapons should be repaired by weaponsmiths, armor should be repaired by armorsmiths, etc. Less durability loss on all repairs and there may be a better success rate.

POKEY THE PENGUIN SIG REMOVED BY GARVA BECAUSE "Just because you are crafty enough to get around the technicality of it being a .jpg or .gif does not mean it is not an image, it is not ascii art, it is an image" SO HERE IS MY NEW SIG.

I agree, that would make sense. It has not proven to be the case in practice. I know 2 WS, both are friends (of whome I know where they both live ) and they have combat alts. They know for certain that WS gets no bonuses. This is very dumb. Unless this changed last publish (in which case: I still get vastly improved results next to the crafting station).
