if you look at the schematics in your datapad you will see that each buffed stat is listed and underneathflavor, PE, and OQ are listed with a percent, this gives you the relative importance of each resource stat for that particular recipe

I decided yesterday that it would be useful for all of us to be able to locate resources with particular attributes easily. So, I whipped up a quick database schema to store information about various things in SWG, including the attributes of harvestable resources. I then wrote a quick python script to produce a set of HTML pages detailing those attributes.

Thus, I give to you:

Alas, right as I completed this, my cable provider decided it'd be a good idea to take down a router for a day or two, so I cannot get into the game to note current stats for Valcyn/Rori. Droopu kindly provided some stats for Starsider/Talus, so you can see what it looks like with actual data.

From here, I will need people to send me stats for the various servers and planets. Basically, if noone contributes data, only the stuff I put in for Valcyn will be useful. If you want this information, you'll need to help out.

If you think it's a stupid idea, feel free to tell me why.

Urk..

The Ouweppi I sent you was Avian bone, sorry if I screwed up

Brilliant work by the way..

Going to bed now.. but once I get in the game, I'll start collecting as much Starsider data for you as I can!

Nope, that was my screwup Got the order of the <th> columns wrong. Updated and fixed. Oh, and it would probably be for the best if people PM'd me their resource stats, rather than cluttering a forum with them. If you could use a format like:

Rori Animal Bone
Awkoopie
Overall Quality 933
Unit Toughness 339

etc, I'll be able to write a script to parse them and update the db automatically - less chance for me to make transcription errors.

Guys,

This is a great idea- but are you really going to want to redo it every week when the resources reset?

If it's useful, I'll update my notes on Valcyn regularly. If it proves to not be useful, it'll die quietly.

I'm kind of new to the artisan profession, having just started my way through Domestic Arts this week. My character up until this point has been CH/Pistoleer, so I know well what stats to look for on a weapon and a pet. However, I'm at a loss as to what stats to check on resources. Would I look for high OQ? Malleability? What makes a difference if you use Copper, Aluminum, or Steel in a Metal slot? If anyone can give me a few pointers on which resources make higher-quality clothing, please let me know. Color me confused at the moment.

I havent made much clothing but it all pretty much works the same.. Just open up your crafting tool and Select the item you wish to make. Then look to the right where the picture of the item is and below is a bunch of info. Scroll to the bottom of that info and it will tell you what resource stats you should focus on for that particular item. so if you havent done so yet:

1. make a weapon and droid crafting tool

2. stand next to a weapon and droid crafting station

3. fire up the weap/droid crafting tool and Select the item you want to make

4. observe the stats the item asks for(down at the bottom under the picture of the item)

5. do your best to use resources that ask for the stats listed

6. create the item.. Select experiment and use all the experimentation points to make a better product. *this is where it gets fun*

Hopefully I didnt overload you with info you already know.. Hope it helps!

Being an armorsmith I am very familiar with it's requirements. Basicly It works as in the above post, you look at the requirement for each stat and go from there. So if something is 50% OQ and 50% shock, (armor) then half of the quality of that particular stat will come from the overall quality of the resource and the other half will come from the shock resistance.

Recently i brought some steel with 918 Overall quality thinking this would be great i went out and got 2k of the stuff , then when i made stuff i could barely experiment with it, i had 3 experimentation slos where with other resources i have had upto 10 so im guessing the other stats one resources mean something, is there anyone that could point me in the right direction and tell me what they do or post here about the other resource stats

It depends on what you're making. Look at the schematic, it'll tell you which stat is important for what you're making. Think of it this way, Overall Quality is just 1 out of the 8 stats Steel usually have. It's not really the.. 'overall quality' of the steel. It could have 918 OQ, but under 200 for all the other stats and it would be pretty bad steel.
