The payout actually right now, depends on your weapon skill and the weapon you are holding when you use the terminal. The highest I have seen is 1500, with novice smuggler (Pistol 4 and unarmed 4) and novice pistoleer. (Pistol 5 I guess)

then i went to besteine (holding the same gun mind you) and the most i could get was 800. so i don't know if that is correct.

yeah i dont know about that. the terminals really seem to jump around and i cant figure out why. best thing ive figured out is to skip the cheap ones, wait a while and try anothe terminal. im always holding the same gun too i believe, but ill try that out...

Icemonkey, i am glad that you are trying to help **( and i am not FLAMING you)** but how do you know that is based on your weapon skills? that does not make sence to me because what about the Artisan that has never picked up a blaster? do they get stuck with crappy missions because they cant shoot? eventhough they might be a master architect.

K, the only reason i came in here is because a while back i heard someone talking about some planet that gave 17k per crafting mission but cost like 5k tousethe shuttles(be that false or not i only heard it). any ways i just want to know if someone can verify that or not.

thanx

The remote planets have better missions in general. If you can find artisan terminals on these planets...

Artisan survey missions are based on your weapon equipped and skill with that weapon. Many people have observed this. It's only reasonable to assume the same thing for crafting missions.

Polearm doesn't increase reward.

Polearm IV and polearm I give same reward.

Zwildstar,

Interesting observation. Perhaps the 1800 vs 900 max survey payouts apply to ranged weapons only (ie the Marksman line). If that is indeed the case maybe someone just goofed the payoutlink to the Marksman table instead of Artisan. Hopefully this will get fixed soon. I don't want to have to get Specialist in a Ranged Weapon just to get decent survey missions.

If you have rank IV in a weapon skill and are still getting crappy missions, it may be your weapon, not your skills. Bounty Hunters get way tougher missions when they equip a lightning cannon... if you are a polearm user, try to get a long vibro axe if artisan payout is that important to you

Skill in a weapon does affect surveying missions. I get double mission amounts when holding my rifle (novice rifleman) as opposed to unarmed in which i have no training. Also, I believe that survey mission payouts depend upon the resource %, while crafting missions depend upon the distance travelled, unless I'm mistaken. I've only ever taken a fewcrafting missions, but they seemed the same as delivery missions except you actually have to make something, and the farther away the destination, the more cash.

As the percentage of the material your looking for increases, so too does the value of the mission. Why what weapon your holding impacts this I have no idea, but it does appear so. As a carbineer I can get survey missions for $1,800 on about any planet, including Tatooine. So I get two of the same thing, for $3,600, and go find it. Once you find it the first time, at least 1,024 m away, you just run too and fro survey, terminal, survey, terminal! It can add up fairly fast, trick is finding a high % resource about 1,025 m from town limits!!

ok i don't get the point of a surveying mission where the payout is base on your combat skill. why can't surveying mission be base on your surveying skill and maybe your artisan skill?

Yeah, it would make sense that it was based on artisan skills, hopefully it's a bug and will be fixed.

Thanks for the one star, whoever gave me that! LOL...not even an explanation? Just someone out there who hates me I guess...let me shed a tear.
