Thread: New Vehicle schematics on TC? Looking pricey!
-----
"Just logged into TC (and got crashed out trying to switch characters) so thought I'd share this with anyone here. The two changes are:
Vehicles have been moved to the Master Artisan. Let all MAs rejoice, everyone else...well, sorry.
Quantities of resources have increase... a lot. It now takes 2500 non-ferrous metal and 10K steel to craft a bike and 4500 non-ferrous and 12K steel to make a landspeed. So, yes, grinding to DE, Architect, Weaponsmith and Armorsmith just got a lot faster."

Well, I guess people will be accusing us of being greedy and gouging either way. At least we won't be taming baby animals for free and then selling them for 1 million credits.
Please verify and correct if any of this is bogus.
Could be worse, I suppose. Just glad it's out of Eng4.
TO all the complainers: get over yourself. All you are really saying is that your mad that you "Wont be the first kid ont he block with a new toy even though you have 7 cents and heck no toy should cost for than 7 cents!"
To all the MA out there, get ready to have a blast selling vehicles. *grin*

That is ridiculously high... A vehicle should not be equal to a small house.... Also, the devs didn't think about how this will impact getting to the novice crafting professions - if you are a MA, craft 4 vehicles and you qualify for DE, or Weapon, or Armor or Arch... I am pretty sure the devs didn't think of that...
I think the resource increase (if it goes live) is a cynical attempt to remove a lot of hoarded steel and other metals from the servers, and to raise prices even further on bulk metals.
It is true that there are a LOT of non artisan proffessions out there either running their own mining operation or renting their lots to facilitate one, leading to over abundance of resources.
If this is the case, surely a better way to deal with it would be to push certificates for medium/heavy harvesters to the higher professions and restrict the amount of resources flowing on to the severs unchecked...
I've already got my pricing system set up. I'm planning on charging 4cpu for a vehicle, and a flat 4K if you provide the resources, free for friends with their own resources. I hope this doesn't seem like I'm gouging. That's 50K for a bike and 66K for a speeder, and I don't think this is out of the question. Has anyone else planned they're pricing yet? If someone comes to me and offers 100K for a bike, I won't turn it down. I'm just glad that the Artisan profession (not elite) finally has something to market.

Those are large ranges only because there's no real way to know what the final schematic will be at this point. Please do comment in the schematic suggestion thread if you haven't already.

What you're neglecting to consider is it's no longer as easy as grinding your way up the engineering tree and then leaping right into the craft. You'd have to Master Artisan first and then make your 4 vehicles, which takes much longer than simply grinding your way from Eng4 to any of the Master Classes.
