Thread: Can you say price increase? I knew ya could.
actually capitalism would give us an inherant ability to change the circumstances, and in this situation we cannot. This is a dictatorship and SOE is the ruler. Fortuanatly we do not have to pay the 15 bucks a month fee to be laughed at by devs.
Everyone is going to feel this in price raises from artisan products and/or artisans will become the most useless skill class in the game because the only ones who can master it are the ones who got in before the nerf.

Well said Seretus, well said!
And I'm in agreement with the thread starter. Sorry to all my customers. Prices just went up big time. You thought I was gonna sell you that Bone Armor Helmet for 500 didn't you? Try more like 2000. ![]()
I never really saw this as a cheat!
Ok, so it's kind of implied that you're supposed to be paying maintenance, but there is a penalty for not paying it -- your buildings degrade until eventually they just disappear. I thought this was a valid option in game.
"Ya, my personal harvester was pretty cheap, so I just kind of let it fall apart. But when I moved up to the Mondo Harvester I was making enough cash to keep it well maintained. And it has served me well for months."
It also makes sense because Artisans make their money from selling stuff. And being able to put up a personal harvester, get some mins from it as it slowly wastes away, and then sell goods to start brining in cash and accessing the higher tiers just seems like a valid path -- it lets an Artisan advance solely by crafting. After this patch, an Artisan has to run missions to make money as well as crafting to advance their skills.
Compare this to a scout. The scout can run missions to make money and buy his equipment. While he's doing this he can be collecting hides from the creatures he kills. So he can make money at the same time as he's advancing his skills. Same for any of the combat related classes who can work on destroy missions while advancing their skills.
The situation is the same for Medics and Entertainers (admittedly provided that people tip) -- they can raise their skills while making money.
So the way I see it this makes Artisans the only class who are forced to go through a pure money making phase before they can move on to developing their chosen skills. I think the amount of money required to build and maintain a personal harvesteris so high that it makes it more difficult than it should be to get past the manually sampling and crafting phase. I saw the personal harvester, with the ability to let it fall to pieces, as the natural tool to break out of this phase.
If you put in the effort to maintain your harvesters, then more power to you. I hope they serve you well.
i guess eventually i'll have to stop giving my stuff away to the newbies that look nekkid and selling them for insane prices in teh bazaar .. yea that's what i'll do.
pfft .. yea right after i start charging for training anyone in anything i can. Freakin greedy bastards.
