Payouts should be related to your surveying/crafting skills, not your fighting skill.

Change it back to 512 meters from mission giver for success like the its says in mission details.

Crafting mission's are a joke, why even take one when your travel expenses will be far greater then the payout?

Side note to the Dev's,

Whats wrong with being able to make some quick credits doing any type of mission? It's nice to have the ability to make a few thousand credits in a short amount of time so you can enjoy other aspects of the game. Not everyone has the ability to play 18 to 20 hours a sitting, for most 2 to 3 hours. These missions were perfect for a casual player to afford harvester maintenance, travel expenses and such and still have time to craft a few things before logging off.

I'm not sure what your intent is by nerfing every type of credit making mission in the game other then tojust slow the pace of the power gamers. The power gamers will always be there, let them do their thing.

Please consider making the changes stated above. I bet you will make everyone happy, especially the casual gamer.

P.S.... Happy gamers continue to pay their money subcription fee, unhappy gamers don't.

Yeah, I don't really agree with the crafting missions being a "joke" per se. I mean, I'm writing this post while i'm waiting for a shuttle to do a crafting mission. I live in Bestine on Tatooine and do crafting missions to Anchorhead all the time. Here's the scoop:

2 x Crafting Missions @ 900c Each = 1800c
1 x Round Trip to Anchorhead = 230c
----------------------------------------------------------
Total Profit = 1570c

I dunno about you, but 1570c for no more than 20 min of work isn't bad.

EoreAseb,

The keyword you used was "waiting". Writing post's and waiting on shuttles is not "playing" the game. It's wasting time, think about it.

Unfortunally I have to disagree here. I don't belive the artisan missions are a joke. There needs to bea time conpondent so they can not be completed too quickly. I can still complete artisan missions for the most part faster then my ranger can complete combat missions. The increased range for survey missions was a good thing/. I think they at about the right distance now.

While waiting for shuttles or running out so survey spots I do mail and little bits of crafting. Iam still playing the game even during what other precieve as downtime. It gives me a chance to go though mail and to keep a suppy of my most used subconpondents on hand.

My only compliant about artisan missions right now is that they base payout on combat skills not your crafting skills.

Just a quick thought - bounty hunters have to do this same thing. Get mission, wait, travel, kill, get new mission. It's not as though artisans are specifically being picked on - and I believe that BH's have to travel far and can only get missions in specific cities - so it seems that we have it pretty easy actually. Do I enjoy doing survey missions? Not really. Do they pay decent for the amount of work it takes? Definitely.

And I mean really - I hate having to wait for the shuttles but there is lots of stuff you can do. Craft for xp, or get yourself a droid with a crafting station and craft to sell (with droid you can experiment right at the shuttle). If you're an entertainer, then dance/play for experience (yes, it's a little silly but hey it utilizes the time). Browse the bazaar (there is not always one nearby though so this isn't always feasible). Sample! (Never hurts to get a few extra resources) Or better yet..have a conversation with the other people that are standing there waiting for the shuttle.

If you're running rather than using shuttles to do the missions..well it seems dangerous to craft while you're doing this unless you have decent fighting skills, so maybe you should pair up with somebody else doing missions. Really though, running seems like a big waste of time when you can travel from city to city and do it instead.

Anyways, just a few thoughts on how to "play" while you're doing these missions that are so tedious.

Yea, I don't understand the variance in payouts either. I don't know anyone who would even try the lower paying missions. It seems useless to me to even have the different values.

I think the missons should be nerfed, no refresh button should be allowed and the Mission pay offs be governed by the difficulty.

For example:

Survey - 20% resource low pay off and the higher the percentage the higher the payoff. With no refresh button available you can only choose what is there until the missions are complete. Then when the missions are finished an automatic refresh happens on the missons.

Crafting - Based on locations closer proximaty lower pay offs. This will allow for the travel costs.

My question is What happens when you fail to craft the object that you are to deliver. Where do you get the materials to re-attempt the mission or do you allways have to abort the mission?????

Any way that is all I can offer.

Just a note, the shuttle travel works for surveys too. Not as fast but they still work.

You are kidding right....

Who travels for the Survey missions.....?

I have a harvester that is about 4k east of Theed and a house that is about 1.4k away from there. It takes me about 10 minutes to complete a mission. I know that there is a 75% concentration of Metal and 80% concetrration of gas in the area and I just walk to my havester finish the mission an pay maintainence. Then finish the second mission and go to the house and grind XP at home....

BTW - Sometimes I will get two metal missions and get a payoff with one survey. How great is that. I can not complain at all about the artisan missions, I know that it is a matter of time before they nerf them. so I am milking it now...... lol....

I agree with the first point and the third point, but I'm not so sure about the second. I think the survey missions may have been a little too quick. They did help me out a lot, though. I enjoyed getting the credits fast, but I can see how it'd cause a problem in the long run.

I don't think waiting for a shuttle is wasting time. I don't think it is anymore wastful then running several km to a harvester or for a survey mission. Anyway, If i'm making a post or crafting (which i also do a lot) I consider it quite productive.

Do you think if i was to run to anchorhead and not take a shuttle i would by "playing" the game and not wasting time?

Lizard_SF,

I had an explanation typed as to why I thought the survey missions were fine at 512m but I deleted it all and started over. I'm going to buck the trend go out and shoot some F'ing bird's and bugs so I can get expert in some type ofweapons skill so the F'ing ARTISAN terminals will pay me the1500 to 1800 credit'sthat you enjoy.

I'm willing to bet the entertainer mission terminal's are the same F'ing way, what the hell does your weapon skill's have to do with dancing or playing an instrument. I'm also willing to bet the Dev's used the same code as the original destroy/delivery terminal's as they are using in the new Artisan/Entertainer terminals, they just changed the look and the text in the mission details. Anyone care to elaborate on that?

Crafting missions are excellent. The higher paying ones are only in certain places. I can get around 1500 cr crafting missions in Tyrena, Deeja Peak, Moenia and probably others. I don't have any Expert weapon skills either

easy way: get 2 missions of same resource type, make waypoint at the terminal. start following your surveys till 1024, and hopefully you'll have the required percentage. create waypoint there. go back and forth, good money. without scout skills i could do it in 10 min, so thats 1400-1600 per 10 min(2x 700-800). with scout skills you could go faster
