make bone armour and give it away for free, it may be axpensive but it is 100's of xp per peice of armour and if you give it away and other people use it you get more xp.

i got 7k xp from only about 3 full sets of armour.

only downside is the resources can be expensive if you dont collect them yourself.

tip just walk around the outside of the town looking for easy animals to kill and harvest from.

Heres what to craft for best xp at certain levels.

Novice artisian:

weapon powerups

Eng1:

weapon powerups

Eng2:

weapon powerups (muzzle)

Eng3:

Bone Armour or wep powerups (muzzle)

Eng4:

Bone Amour and give it all away.

P.s. get a chem and mineral harvestor and power generator, helps a heap

This is why usage XP needs to be removed. You power gaming grinders are ruining the economy for anyone who might actually want to SELL something.

You make lots and lots of stuff as quickly as possible, So what if you can't get to your Advanced Artisan Profession in 1 day, ask a pistoleer how long it took them to get there. The Artisan Advanced professions don't take so much effort to get to, and really I'm amazed at how many people think it takes a lot of work to get there. I have 3 workds for you: GET A FACTORY. If you don't like griding you're gonna have to pay for it some other way.

Well, you can pretty much just write off any of the entry level items for selling in all reality. Everyone who even just dinks around with the profession is going to make something. You are then presented with two choices, toss it up on the Bazaar for 20 CR just to see if someone will buy it, or destroy it.

Chances are, no one is going to buy that Riffle, Carbine, or Pistol you just made, and there's an ever so slim chance someone will buy the powerup (unless you experiment and make some nice ones). Logically, you can't complain that the market is flooded with entry level items, that was bound to happen as people skill up, they generate WAY too many goods then the actual market can support. And the more crafters there are at any time, the more entry level stuff sitting out on the market. As you go up, the less of those items there are, and the more they will be worth, and the more of a market for them there will be.

So, basically, don't expect to get much for a set of Bone armour, as you, and 500 other people are making it too... suit after suit after suit...

Jeez why are you flaming me.

First of all i am not a power gamer

Second i havent even come near master yet, im at eng4 which took me 4 days, and i have noticed that i get heaps of xp when i craft armour.

Third im not in a guild and dont know anyone, making it possible for me to grind or powergame even less

Forth im not a powergamer (yes i had to repeat), and will never be for a few reasons (i dont have much monthly bandwidth reducing my play time, i dont spend 17hrs infront of the screen, if i did powergamei would get bord easily, and i dont wanna be bord)

Fifth i was just trying to help all those people asking what stuff to make to get good xp, doesnt mean im a powergamer, it means im smart. look at them there are heaps of post asking this, i was just trying to help

Btw how much xp do you get from users i though it was only like 5-20 per item, or is it based on how long or how many times they use it?

The problem is that you have advocated the worst action possible for the entry level economy - giving away bone armor. Bone armor is without question the MOST difficult and expensive product for the non-elite artisan to make. On Bria, you can bet on paying over 1000cr to buy the raw materials for a single chest piece if you don't hunt down the skins and bone yourself. It SHOULD be the most profitable item available to a crafter before they make their elite profession, but - because the GCXP is the highest (and for no other economically sound reason) - the armor market is suffering from the "grind and dump" powerlevelers. For a while, I kept the price of armor up on my planet by buying and destroying every piece that sold for under 1000cr - this has become nearly impossible. I've moved on to other products simple because it's far easier to support reasonable prices for products that grinders DON'T dump.

Interestingly, it was possible to keep prices up all through Beta mostly because the Beta players were really paying attention to the way the game worked. On Tat and Naboo, at least, armor rarely dipped below 1000cr and well-made products commanded a nice premium in most cities.

Before you run off to the bone armor "promised land" take heed. Buying the amount of bone and hide you will need to craft a compete set will be pricey. If you gather it yourself, you better be trained in scout for the purposes of harvesting it. I enjoyed the break from crafting to run missions and harvest bone and hide. It took 3-4 hours to gather enough bone and hide to make a full set, head to toe.

Oh, and critical failures are more catastophic. I once had three bone armor chest pieces fail in a row. That was pretty much an entire Saturday afternoon down the toilet. A critical failure on a weapon or power up is no big thing Eng I - IV in comparison.

There's a concept, actually make quality! (sarcasm intended) I finally made novice weaponsmith. In retrospect, you have two choices: you can "craft" or you can "grind". DON"T expect people to buy stuff you grind without experimentation. Fact is, they shouldn't have to. It's low quality and not worth them buying. I am trained in marksman as well and constantly watch the bazaar for weapons. If I wouldn't buy it and use it, I won't try selling it. Quality does sell. Powerups that I made with high quality metals and fully experimented DID SELL. As a matter of fact even as a novice weaponsmith, I still make them.

I'm about 2K away from Eng 4 and thats just from making stuff I need to survive as a scout. No usage XP for me. I make traps, power ups, and camps.

Hey all,

There were some very good points here. The advice is a great one.

The description of the current state of the market is also a very good one.

For the flamer that I read:

Usage XP should not be removed. Keep in mind that, as stated, anyone who took the artisan profession or simply wanted to play around in it is flooding the market right now with all the stuff they make.

This is not knocking the market at all. Over the next few months it should kick start and lower level artisans will find their nitch. Anyone in the artisan category that is looking to become a top level crafter of some kind (Weaponsmith, ArmorSmith, Ect) is going to be up there making the big money selling whatever they have. As in all markets, those high level smiths are no longer going to (for the most part) waste their valuable resources on building a Control Unit or something to that effect. This is where the artisans come into play and make a few bucks here and there.

Keep in mind, this is all speculation as I cannot see the future, but I can honestly guarantee with all the engineers coming into their own, and people figuring out what they want to play, the market will be less crowded in the next few months. (Give time for Europe to get their shipments as well, and build up characters).

Now, what harm does giving out bone armor do? Anyone who is spending money on armor probably wants Armorweave or higher anyway, which you need Armorsmithing Novice to build. Giving out bone armor to a few friends simply creates a relationship and leads for future business. Yes, those few people who would have bought bone armor are now not buying bone armor, but this isn't cutting out the market, really.

Last night I created around 60 MSE-6 "Mouse" Droids with Medical Units and just gave them out to little newbie medics. What did this do? I am teaching players how to use droids, I am getting them more familiar and comfortable to want to buy the higher end droids. Does my giving out MSE droids cut out from the Droid Engineer selling Probots? No, not really. What else does this do? Gives me friends, people who will come back to me for droids later? At the very least, the player will know how to program a droid and go forward in the future when making a purchase.

Anyway, thanks for reading. I will quit my babbling now.

This statement says a lot about how little many artisans understand about the market.
Anyone who is given bone armor won't be buyin bone armor in the future. So who buys the armor we've invested so much time and money in? No one.

The armorweave stuff just makes the market worse, I agree. I have a brawler on one server who is almost completely outfitted in armorweave just from running fedex missions on his first day. The poor armorer who sold him the armor had to slave and grind for a month to reach this point, and there he was, selling his stuff for just a little more than bone is going for.

Just to make it clear, giving away armor is certainly your right, but you should never assume that it doesn't affect the market.

Hopefully, the artificial cap on bazaar transactions will be lifted in the future. When this happens, expect to see some players start using arbitrage to earn credits by buying cheap stuff and selling it for more. With a 20 item cap, this is a bit hard, but it may work in the future.

It would also be quite beneficial to see an increase in the decay rate of objects - as far as I can tell, weapon/armor repair are virtually useless at the current rate, and no one has any incentive to get another rifle or suit of armor.

Theproblem I see with your post is that you recommend using low quality resources. The animals that you find right outside of town will usually give bone and hide that is not very good for bone armor. I don't think urging people to flood the market with low quality products is good for the Artisan industry in general. I don't mind if you wantto give stuff away for free but don't promote it on these boards.

Have you considered that you are ruining your future as an Artisan bygiving away low quality stuff in large quantities ?People will lose respect for your business and quality of your products. Later when they are looking for high end products your name will not be on the list to buy from or even get stuff for free.

I never compromise on quality!
