My alt character made a swoop for a customer yesterday and when they generated it the swoop showed that it had 40K of HAM !
I was told later by a friend that this was a bannable exploit and that I should have them delete it and make them a new one.
I had them do so and my question now is.....is it really a bug that is a bannable exploit ?
Thanks

An exploit, although if it happens to you accidently, you can report it to a CSR (who I think coverts it back to deed form) or delete it.
Details are about halfway down this page:

i dont know if its bannable, but considering the new 'get tough' policy, they could ban both you and the proud new owner of the swoop.
of course they could always ban you for it anyway but i dont think anyone was.
what i have heard is that if a csr sees it, or someone reports it, they will delete it from the persons datapad.
it is a bug, because the ham limit is supposed to be 2500 and you are required to do something specific to get a 40k swoop. if you use a bug to your advantage, then its called an exploit.
thats the best way i can think of to explain it.

Here it is from that link -
============================
CURRENT- [Vehicles with 40,000 HAM] -CURRENT-
Any sort of vehicle (Swoop Bike, Speeder Bike, Landspeeder or AV-21 that has 40,000 HAM is considered exploited. Creating such vehicles through use of a known bug is also considered exploiting. These types of vehicles should be reported to customer service immediately through CS ticket submission. If a player is found in possession of a vehicle and has not reported its increased HAM, it is subject to removal without reimbursement.
=============================
I have one of these that i made by true accident. I wasnt aware of the exploit. And I tried to think of the situation that would have caused it. I never intended on selling it since i knew it would get deleted. It was a good accident though
Since then i know how to do it and avoid doing it at all costs.
Bugs are fun!
The bigger problem came from people selling these knowing what would happen when they did

A buddy of mine went to FanFest and his group solved some kind of puzzle, and they were awarded AV-21's for their characters. The deed generated a 40k HAM AV-21. So, is my buddy in danger of losing his FanFest reward because of an overzealous "exploit" reporter who just likes typing /report?
I'd hate to see him get his AV-21 deleted. I mean, we all know how CSR's are. It's delete first, then after a completely valid argument is made, "nothing can be done, sorry, thank you for playing Star Wars Galaxies."

Just use the ones you have. Don't sell them. And dont make any more. Just let the system attrit them out.
They didnt give out AV-21's. The ones they have are created using the exploit (Which should not be said here)

If that player was awarded a 40K HAM AV-21 by the devs for solving a puzzle at FanFest...I say he keeps it.....CSR's be damned.

Does anyone know what HAM the 40k vehicles are reduced to when they're redeeded? I doubt the game retains the information from the original deed (especially in the case of reward vehicles). Does the new vehicle default to 1500?

I know that in JTL beta if you got a vehicle from the "frog" terminals it came with 40k HAM. If the reward vehicles were dev generated, it's very likely that they would have been generated the same way.
I still don't see why they shouldn't all be 40k anyway. They're cheaper to buy new than to repair and once you're unconscious, it's pretty easy for whatever knocked you out to kill your vehicle anyway.
I wouldn't mind the current HAM values if the stupid things didn't start smoking when they hit 75% condition.

I agree about the smoking thing at 75. It happens way to soon. But the 40k thing is bad because it takes one of the main markets of Master Artisan away. Part of the reason bikes have 2-4k ham (depending on model) is renewable income for artisan.
What this doesnt explain is why it takes the same number of materials to make a small house to make a car

Guys don't worry. I'm not going to post how the exploit is done to make these 40k HAM vehicals since it's against the TOS now, but I can assure you it's not how you crafted it. It's on how the vehical is generated from the deed. If you have a customer who decides to exploit it you won't get in trouble. It's 100% thier fault if they make it that way.(unless they do it on accident)

No, FanFest did give out AV-21's, my buddy got his there. They solved some puzzle and everyone got one.
I make vehicles, I know all about the exploit, and I've never utilized it. I don't see the point. But, the AV-21 my friend has is straight from FanFest, so it's not exploited. I just hope some punk with nothing better to do doesn't /report him and cost him his FanFest reward.

I wasnt saying that AV's werent handed out. I was saying that when the deed was used it was probaly used in the wa the exploit happens (not on purpose)
