Thread: 14 Points Human Artisan Frustrating and Unbalanced
Now human Artisans are probably gonna call me a nerf cryer or whatever, but I think humans have an unfair/unbalanced advantage over other races. Now I think they never should have made differences in player race because most of the time it doesn't make sense and is calling for problems.
That said I think human artisans beats all stupidity for the simple reason I, as a Mon Cal, will never be able to craft food as good as artisans make. And it's not a small advantage... they get 2 freaking more experimentation points to spend. This means they can make the same strenght food/drinks I can make, only 10 minutes longer. Not even with all the tapes in the world I can ever be able to craft 'em that good.
So here it comes... remove human artisan bonus or change it to something like an assembly bonus or experimentation bonus (better change on amazing succes or something). I'll say it again... 2 free extra experi points is unbalanced.
Flame away (thats probably what's gonna happen I don't care) or...

Sure I read the char stats but I, like most people I think, pick a race because they think it's fun/cool/whatever to play that race. Or for roleplay purpose. Hell, most people didn't had a clue when they first created their chars or are changing professions often. Sure we (Mon Cals) get an assembly 'bonus'. That means nothing and is almost, if not totally, useless.
You said it yourself... +15 exp is just crazy. Thanks for replying
First, my main is a Mon-Cal. Former Artisan, Bio Engineer, Doctor and Architect. So I fully understand what you are saying, but..
1) Artisan Experimentation only comes in to play on a very select few objects, such as power ups.
2) You are upset because your bonus is to assembly and it is "worthless". While I honestly agree with you, does this mean everyone should have a worthless bonus as well?
I'd rather see some more bonuses added to the races, ones that matter a bit more than the 10% you can get out of food, FS skills or city status. Like add a bonus to whatever stat gets rid of failures while experimenting.
Or for Mon-Cal's maybe some flat out experimentation bonuses to Shipwright (since you can't max out every box if you had perfect resources and a ton of +25 tapes).
But trying to get another profession/race put in the same boat as you doesn't help anything.

I hear ya but...
It comes into play where it counts. Like vehicles, pups and above all food.
It's unbalanced. Everyone should have a chance to get at the same level as others.
There is no way I can match that. I'm not a nerf cryer normally but I just don't think this is fair.
If the only way to balace things is by removing the bonus, so be it. That's my point of view.

You do have balance - you have enhanced roleplaying at the cost of skill bonuses. Anyone can make an artisan with an initial +15 experimentation bonus since it is a choice. By extending your argument, you would eliminate socketed gloves and boots from the game, since Trandoshans can't wear them.
You have a point there. Hmmmm... I need to think about this. Thanks for your reply.

Having a human 14pt Master Artisan alt is my compensation for being screwed over as a Doshan.
How do you even try to say its unfair. On the charatcer select screen you chose NOT to have a boring human with +15 Artisan experimentation, this is probably because pre CU the extra points werent that usefull. But now with food and pups been big sellers your moaning-well tough! Why would it be fair to nerf it and have all the people that chose humanssoley for this purpose to be brought down to your level.
You had a choice like everyone else- you chose badly, unlucky. Im sick of people complaining because someone else is better when they had the option to be the same. And as for your 'ill never be able to get to the same level as humans'*, well you can, its simple. Delete current character and start again with a human.
I agree that the extra 2 exp points makes a big difference, but you still had the choice.

Yeah, I see your point but I didn't make my char to be an Artisan. I created this char to play basicly... Always wanted to be a Mon Cal. I didn't created it with a specific temp in mind.
As far as deleting my char is not an option. I like Oroku too much
I just never ran into a really big difference between races in other professions. This one is still a too big advantage. 1 extra point (thats 5 minutes xtra duration or a little stronger buffs) I could live with.
I think I got a little too annoyed because Artisan food is also too good compared to Chef food
Well, I think most of you will hate me by now so I'll close my case.
And I vote for nice big boots for Trandos
Greetings Oroku
My crafter is a Mon Cal as well. Belive it or not, the Artisan guy doesn't play a human Artisan. Go fig. But I'm still a 10 point Artisan as I haven't cared enough to get a +25 experimentation suit together. It just isn't that important to me. I sell what I make for a decent profit and have fun playing a Mon Cal.
*shrug*
It is all about choices.
