I just want to get the opinion of others about what is a fair price for Swoops and other vehicles. I personally experiment up to 98% and sell these swoops as Uber Supreme Swoops 98% for about 50K. People buy them at this price. Of course, there are those who sell their swoops at a much lower price. Today somebody was selling 93% Swoops for 20K a piece. I bought him out and put them up on my vendor... marked up of course. I just have a hard time justifying the selling of high quality swoops for 25K. The time for harvesting and the high amount of resources needed to make just 1 swoop doesn't seem to be equate to selling for 25K.


What are your strategies and thoughts?

It might help to know the HAM range of (legal) swoops ... how much is an extra point of experiment really WORTH, and is it worth using the very high-SR materials for a premium price?

Personally, I sell all of my swoops for a flat rate of 30k. I only make 90%+ experimented swoops and I never charge morebased on higher experimentation. Personally, I don't feel the differencein a 90% and a 99%vehicle is worth 1 credit let alone the thousands of creditsextra that some people charge forwhatequates toless than 200 hitpoints on a swoop.


I've seen swoops on my server for more and I've seen them for less. However, what I've never seen are vehicle vendors that are consistently stocked with the level of stock that I carry on all of my vendors. I have three vehicle vendors and I endeavor to have at least 10 swoops on each of them at all times. I actually carry around an extra factory crate of swoops for emergency restocks as well as on the fly sales.


In regard to the question about it being worth it to use premium resources: yes. Since I mine my own metals as well as my own power it really doesn't matter what I use to make my vehicles. It all costs me exactly the same amount of money regardless of what I use so why shouldn't I use the good stuff? Honestly, I could build vehicles at less than one credit per unit of resources and I'd still make money on the sale, but my vendors would never stay stocked then. At my current price of 30k per swoop I still sell quite a few vehicles, but I don't have people come in and clean me out in order to resell my merchandise.


And before someone starts spouting off "opportunity cost" and several other terms that you learned in Econ 100, please don't. I understand that I could take the resources I am using to make 99% swoops and sell them for more money than I make from selling 30k swoops. I price my vehicles the way I do because it's a fair price and I'm a crafter, not a miner.

%*15+1000=HP for Swoops and Speederbikes.
%*15+1500=HP for X34 and AV-21s.

HP(-1000)/15=% for Speederbikes and swoops.
HP(-1500)/15=% for X34 and AV-21s.

Shock Resistance of Ferrous = F
Shock Resistance of Non Ferrous = N
Durability (Experimentation) % = D

Bikes are a straight 4:1 ratio of F:N
((F*4)+N)/50=D

Example Swoop/Speederbike:
Ferrous=985SR, Non-Ferrous=830SR
((985*4)+830)/50 = 95.4% Durability
(95.4*15)+1000 = 2431 Hit Points

AV-21 and X34s require an extra multiplication step for N because the ratio is 25:9
((F*25)+(N*9))/340=D

Example AV-21/X34:
Ferrous=985SR, Non-Ferrous=830SR
((985*25)+(830*9))/340 = 94.4% Durability
(94.4*15)+1500 = 2915.96 Hit Points.

i don't price that high for anything, but then again i don't make that many vehicles


the high end swoops i put at 24k, min is 18k for lower ham ones. the reason is this, 24k amounts to over 2 cpu which is quite a bit more than it cost me to mine the metal. plus there's tents nearby where they can get swoops cheaper than that. i raise any more they will sit on my vendors forever. truthfully, i get more like a 10 cpu or more return if i save the high SR metal for weapons which is why i don't fill vendors with vehicles.


speederbikes and landspeeders are a lower range than that since they don't sell as fast and take less metal.


the other thing to consider is that with the end of solo groups, fewer people will have huge amounts of money before too long. the guy you are reselling on is probably closer to what most server economies will shift to soon.

95%+


25k Swoops

20k Speeders

15k Landspeeders


You have to assume you have at least 80%+ , from there, doesn't really matter.


The only time when % durability really matters is when making an AV-21.

i sell my bikes for:


Swoop = 20K

Speederbike =16k

Landspeeder = 10K



This covers all my costs, and leaves me with enought profit to run my shops....

I typically sell my 95% swoops for 20k. I also make X34's and put them on the Bazaar for 6k. I mine all my own resources, including power, so the actual cost of the materials needed is very low. I'm sure I could sell my speeders for more, but I'm not that hard up for cash.

depending on my mood when i stock,


10-15k speeders

20-25k speeder bikes

30-35k swoops..



this is just barely over 3cpu,, Im a miner and i only mine high high end stuff. tat would freeze over before i sell something i craft cheaper than i can sell the mineral strait on the open market.

i sell minerals for 1.5 cpu for total crap,

2-3 for mid,

3-4 for mid high

and high end stuff to premium wll the sky is the limit : ) generally these i dont sell for atleast 5-6 months down the road anyway


That said also there is almost zero difference in an 80-99 vehicle, i made a 13% and a 94 and tested um, the 13 ticked slightly faster, and had just about 1k less ham, that was using total crap and zero exp points. had i used my points it would ahve been about 50 and that would have been about a 500 durra difference, a bit of a difference, but an 85 or soo and 99 nodda, just not worth it.. cept maybe for an av-21 but even that,, if you need the extra 200 hp to survive,, well its probly gonna blow up anyway.

98%, Swoops go for about 30k. Just made some 96%, prob. gonna go for a little less. Some how people always have to tell me that "lolROFL, swoops are sold for 15k noob", freaking pisses me of, so I tell them that they can buy their swoops there, i dont a sh*t. I dont tell people what missions to do for money.

For me it's 25-35k depending on the demand. All my swoops are above 90%.

I sold a ton of 90% swoops for 30K to a mercahnt whoI know resold them.
