Thread: renting lots
2.5k per day per lot if the harvestor is to be stationary.
5k per day per lot if your always having them move around to high concentrations of select resources.
I'm currently on the tarquinas server. Wanted to know if anyone would like to trade lots. I'll create a char on your server, place 10 lots for you. You create a char on my server and do the same. Send me a PM if you're interested!
My question to you guys, who "owns" the harvester? Who's responsable for power, maintance and the cost of relocating the havester when the time comes?
I pay 5Kfor every harvester a person moves for me. Our company owns our harvesters, is responsible for the power and maintance of each harvester, as well as finding the new locations for the harvesters. Admititlly I'm only renting 10 lots from a RL friend right now, so I wonder why you guys pay so much. As it is, 5K per harvester adds approx 0.10-0.15 credits per unit. (The actual amount would very greatly depending on the type of power being used, the concentration of the resource in question and the length of the run for that resource. The additonal 20K you guys pay adds close to 1/2 credit to cost per unit on an average run, running really close to a full 1/cpu for the resource in question. How can you justify that sort of payout?
maybe you could do this until you can buy your own harvs and learn how to survey etc and do it yourself and make more
It can be rather time consuming. Once you find someone who will rent them, they do a lot of the work. There are probably three pay scales, each require you to do more work.
1) Some people are happy placing a harvester and never moving it. They will alter what it harvests depending on what is good at that location. No matter how bad the spawn or how low the percentage, they will leave the harvesters there. This requires almost no work for you. Once you place the 10 harvester where they want them and make them the Admin, you will never be called upon to do any more work. The credis will show up on an agreeded upon schedule. This will generate the lowest amount of credits.
2) Once you have placed harvesters where the reneter wants them, you agree to a specific schedule, say every 10+ days. The harvesters will stay in that location for a minimum of 10 days and you will not be required to move them. After 10 days have passed, if the renter wants them moved, you have to go to each harvester, re-deed them, and move them to the new location. Once set up, assign the renter admin privleges. The renter may agree to special payment incentives if they want to move the harvesters before the 10 days are up.
3) You agree to move the harvesters as frequenty as the renter desires. There may be a rare spawn that requires you to move the harvester hours (more likely days) after placing them. This requires more work but the renter tends to pay a premium for this type of service.
Most renters fall under category 2.
There is no problem moving houses (or factories) as long as there's enough maintenance on the house (or factory). I've done that many times. And everything must be out of the house (or factory) to be able to redeed it.
