Thread: How do artisans get Holocrons?
Why would such a being desire a holocron? Eh, Mr RPer?
I've wondered the same thing. I'm a Master Architect/Master Artisan and I quite definitely don't have the combat skills to get a holocron. However, the whole force sensitive thing has only just started, so I'd be fairly confident (famous last words) that a provision will be made to allow non combat specific classes to have a go.
Can I just ask a question tho? Does one need a holocron in order to open a force sensitive slot? I know that a holocron will tell you which skill tree you need to mster to open a slot, but what if you take the correct route without the aid of a holocron? Will your slot open automatically? Or do you need to have the holocron in your possesion?
Hate to say it, but you have to buy one of the many being sold by combat class characters. And yes, they are expensive, 2-4 million credits each.
Gorba
The developers have acknowledge this as a problem. They have plans to make the holocrons available to a wider number of professions.
Plus you dont need a holocron to open a FSCS. What will your peace lovinghippy do when one of the required professions to open the FSCS is a combat slot?
The holocrons give you a hintas to one of the professions your character needs to master to get in on the FSS craze. Whatever randomly generated set of requirements landed on your toon at its creation, the holo tells you what one of the professions is on that list. It's not required that you use one to activate the slot.
I think.
I believe it would really create a frenzy if the holos described one of the other requirements next, aka "you must become a Hero of the Empire to continue your path to power!"
"Why would such a being desire a holocron? Eh, Mr RPer?"
How about...because that wont be the character who becomes FS?
People are only selling them for millions because they know that people will pay it. If people stopped paying the ridiculous prices for them, perhaps those who sell them would choose more... reasonable rates.
I washand sampling for amorphous gemstone the other dayand I got a little message box.
It said something like: You seem to have unearthed a portion of an oddly shaped gem, do you wish to attempt to uncover the entire gem? I could continue for the cost of 700 action, or ignore it and continue. Luckily I had enough action, so I continued and it was actually a holocron!!!
HA. Nar, I'm just joking. Right now the only thing we artisans can do is buy them...you know with all the money we make from selling Nemoidian Bird cages.
Supposedly they will eventually add a way for non-combat classes to get them though. I hope that it isn't anything doable by combat classes though, or they'll somehow corner that away from us too, I bet.
