Is anyone else having a problem with recyclers that won't work?
I'm not talking about crafting them: I have 4 of the collection of 5, they're sat there, on the bedroom floor, doing NOTHING!
No matter what I just can't get them to accept resources to be recycled. Neither drag and drop, or the recycler "hopper window" will allow me to load anything into the recycler.
I've tried all the settings on the "recycler setting" radial option (when it remembers to appear!) and all sorts of the right resources, but the things all just sit there doing nothing.
I've had a CSR ticket open for a week now, but so far they've not found a solution yet.
Has anyone else seen this problem.....and better still, has anyone had it successfully fixed?

I think i remember reading somewhere that you have to pick them up and put them in your inventory to actually use them. I am not positive, but give that a try and see if it helps

Put it in your inventory.
Set for the proper material.
Drop the resource on the recycler.

A-yup
simple and fast.
Would be nice if we could work them from floor I would open a 'mill' for people to come recycle their stuff.

It would be nicer if they could figure out what you were putting into them and auto-adjust for it.
I mean, why should I have to tell it I'm putting chemical into it?
Clearly it can recycle chemical and it knows that it's not set to recycle the chemical I'm putting into it.
Why can't it just adjust itself and recycle the chemical when I drop it on it?

I am still in want for spinner blades...
I have the Metal Recycler sitting in my workshop, but it is that Creature one I want...
Would love them all for the look, I love remake for them!
It reminds me of my grams kitchen, those big tacky storage jars for Sugar, Flour, Coffee and stuff.

Spinner blades and blue wire were the bane of my existence.
Were her storage canisters 4 feet tall?

Most things only work if you're holding them.

In fact, except for storage containers and ballot boxes, I can't think of anything that operates in more than a passive manner (like crafting stations) when you're not holding it.

I agree completely. I can see absolutely no reason for that extra step. What is worse, is that they are bugged (at least my creature recycler is). After choosing/recycling one type of resource, I'd have to shuttle before I could get the radial option to choose a different recycling type. No, I didn't send a bug report. I don't think anybody actually reads them anyway, but that is a different gripe for a different day.

Boy do I feel stupid
It never occurred to me that the useless piece of *%&^ that just sat on the floor would work if I picked it up and put it in my pocket.
I may be just paranoid, but other than asking you people, does it actually say ANYWHERE that recyclers only work when in your inventory?
I can't be the only noob recycler owner to have made this mistake (or maybe I am)
Thanks again....all is now well in my recycling world (except the need for 4 spinner blades)

I have that problem too, but I find that waiting about 30 sec and then trying to use something that it's not set to recycle will unstick it and I can use the menu again.

Dropping the recycler and picking it up again works too, if you are in your house.
