Thread: So Where Are All The New Recyclers ?

These have been out as new loot for what 2 weeks now and I am just now starting to see people selling them for an un-Godly 200k each on the Scylla trade forum. These are artisan made items yet if you are an artisan with no combat ability you have no chance of getting these to make for yourself let alone other people because buffed tanks able to kill anything in the game are scalping them to others for this un-reasonable price.

Why is it that loot only comes from things that you kill and not for instance coming to the artisan when he does a random scan for a resource he is about to sample ?

Surveyors already get that little box every once in awhile that says there is a higher source of the material you are sampling do you want to concentrate your scan on it ?

Why not give them a chance and some of the artisan made random loot since they cant kill things.

Loot should not just be for the combat classes period.

That's a really good idea!

As a mineral surveying tool is just a complicated metal detector, it should be possible to go digging for resources and accidentally dig up loot. After all this is star wars and battles are fought everywhere - there must be lots of junk that's been lost over the years. Better loot could be hidden on the tougher worlds, so that in order to find the good stuff you'll need to either have a good combat skill or bring a bunch of buddies with you.

I really like this idea. I have a second char on my Girlfriends account he is a TKM so I can go out and get this loot for myself. I think it is kinda pointless that some of the loot designed for a Tailor/Artisan/Architect etc can only be gained through combat.

I think we should be able to look arround and our little servey devices go mad when we happen to servey/smaple near some loot.

Good idea

The problem isn't the schematics for the recyclers it's getting the sub-components for the schematic. For instance, the Creature recycler needs a feeder tube, and after two sessions at the Tusken fort I've gotten one.

I'm trying to get a schematic from the Corsairs or Blood Razors on Lok, but can't find a spot that spawns them in steady numbers. Those seem to be rare as well.

Granted it sucks that most loot is dropped as a result of having to kill something. But most of the NPC's dropping the recycler loot are pretty whimpy and can be handled by about anyone with a buff and some armor.

My chef is Master Artisan, Master Chef, Novice Medic, Novice Tailor. NO COMBAT SKILLS. I get buffed, I put on some 80+% kinetic composite armor, I grab my pre-nerf Nym's Carbine (that does not require any certification), I eat Synthsteak or one of the defense foods (like dizzy or knockdown) depending on who I am fighting, then I take Citros Snow Cake to boost my accuracy (or else I miss 9 out of 10 times). Then I go to town. Plenty of NPC's are whimps and can be killed by us crafters. Meatlumps? ha ha! Just look at them wrong and they drop dead. I can even take out Corsairs and Blood Razors on Lok as long as I can single them out. Sure, it takes awhile, but it's a lot more entertaining than watching everything just drop over with 1 shot.

Ok, so it's not like being a Master TKA and just going into a cave and destroying everything. But hey, that may be changing in the combat revamp also. Plus, consider the perspective of the combat folks, if we don't need them to hunt and kill stuff for us then what good are they? They should be looting the good stuff like these recyclers then selling us the parts. Problem is early on "parts" always cost a fortune. The longer you wait the more available they become. I am not knocking this, heck, I just paid 1 million today for the Agitator Motor schematic. But it was the last part I need to make one or two of my recyclers. We can make back a million pretty fast making or selling stuff, collecting money even while offline, while a combat person needs to pretty much be online and fighting to actively be collecting income.

There are pro's and con's to all sides of this I am sure. But the fact is some people in game need to be good at some things and others need to be good at other things. We all need to need each other. Then we HAVE to interact and actually PLAY the game.

I've been grabbing the missons on Lok, however my experience has been there are two NPC's there, and when I take them down and start on the lair no more spawn. So 4 per trip means slow going to spawn them and the new loot hasn't popped up on them yet.

But I'll keep at it.

If you get 2 missions that are the same direction and close to each other (say 500 to 700m) go to the first mission, kill the npcs but leave the lair, drive to the second, kill the npcs, also leave the lair. Now go back to the first and you will find the npcs have respawned. Take out the npcs AND the lair, repeat this at the second lair. This doubles the amount of npcs you kill, but is faster than pulling 4 missions.

If you try for a third "bounce" between lairs, you will probably fail the mission and lose the credits. Best way I've found is to kill the lair on the second trip.

By far the BEST way to find these parts is to ask combat oriented friends and guildmates to help hunt them for you. Offer to buy or trade items for them if you must, but I find most friend help without incentive. Just an option
