Thread: Coming Patch Terror fixed 100 uses of schematic
I haven't seen anything on the boards, but maybe I just missed it, but this will absolutely SUCK. Being able to make 500-1000 components with the same serial number has been wonderful and keeps crafting from being a total headache. Limiting it to 100 would mean that if a final item had 4 of the same component then only 24 would be makeable in a crate. Much smaller production runs means much more running back and forth to factories and logging in all the time to keep the factory going. It also means much more complicated crate management when I have 10 different serial numbers of synthetic cloth instead of one. I'm thinking SOE hasn't thought this one through very well.
Am I the only one with this concern?
No, there is a 30 page (and ever growing) thread responding to Holo on this.
Everyone has said how horrible it will be, and point out how it will backfire on their hopes of reducing load in their crappy database.
They are, of course, being ignored.
I'm running thousant-unit schematics of GP modules and memory modules right now, so that I minimize the effect this has on me.
Yet another side-effect that will damage the database, of course, but that's what systems do, stimulus generates response, and the response to an announced change is to prime oneself not to be too badly hurt by it.
Each advanced droid brain requires four identical factory-made GP modules and four identical factory-made memory modules.
Each R3 droid requires two identical factory-made advanced droid brains.
The one hundred item limit is a real issue for me.
and to adjust crate sizes accordingly.
Things like GP & memory modules, projectile feed, synth cloth etc should all be 50-100 item crates.
*bends over & takes it*
I have never used schematics more than 100, but I'd love to do it... I avoid using bugs. It's so very annoying when making advanced droid brains. *sigh*

my suggestion to the devs would be to allow us to make 10 crates per schematic

I like that idea VERY much. Limit the schematic to a # of crates, choose one through ten, and TEST that 100 isn't allowed! ![]()
Then make the crate size easily adjustable so that parameters can be tweaked in response to item imbalances.

Actually I think it's intentional that higher level items like T-21's and houses are inconvenient to craft in factories. I filed a CS ticket based on 4 consecutive microsensor suite failures, requesting that I be told exactly what I needed to do in order to minimize my failures. The rep got back to me and said it's intentional that the higher level items are more difficult to craft in order to keep high-quality items from saturating the market. Keeping this in mind I find it difficult to believe that anyone is going to pay heed to the complaints regarding crated items and factories. Yes I realize it's a bother to craft said items in factories, I gave up after one run of weapon repair kits with optional accessories and that's a piece of cake compared to the other items mentioned in this thread. However, I think that the Game Gods might turn a deaf ear to you on this one.
I'm a DE as well as a MA - not only do I use all my MMs and GPs, I sell them to other DEs by the cratefull! Better get a few 1000-runs before the change...
