Vaedross, I feel the same as you on this.
That way items can be capped individually, as opposed to a cap across the board for everything.

Just to confirm, go look at the Dev Tracker and see the post by Vass about the updated patch notes. He specifically wrote a 5-line message that said "BTW, we have put it formally to 1000 items now"
