Well, I finally made it to master CM <phew>.... That was a lot of crafting I have somegeneric questions for all you veteran MCMs.


Realizing that poison stats are sort of inter-related, here goes---


1. What are some good numbers for Potentency, Effectiveness and Range?


2. Am I wasting my effort if I only have resources for 1 or 2 of the advanced components?


3. I've seen prices on these boards for between 3 and 6k each for C poison. Is that still a reasonable range?


4. I have 10 experiment points, isit possible to get more with CM tapes? Is it really worth it?


5. Once you have master, is there a big value in hunting out other CM tapes/clothes forrange, speed, etc?

Thanks so much for the replies !! That really helps a lot. I'm starting to experiment with my crafting station to see what happens with different exp points in different areas. I don't have a good baseline to know what is a good results though.... That makes it kind of tough to gauge if I'm doing ok.


I'm curious too about where I might find the CM tapes. Do most tapes come from the dungeon mag seal containers, or just off certain mobs?

I suggest also investing in a high quality crafting tool (+12 or higher) and a high quality crafting station (+30 or higher). The crafting stations can be expensive. At a minimum, get equipment that has + attributes. Look at yours, they probably have -13, and -30 something qualities.


Tapes are dropped by many different types of creatures. It seems that the quality and quantity of tapes has been reduced drastically on Eclipse, which makes purchasing existing tapes a more likely avenue for increasing CM skills. Remember, for the experimentation line, it takes 10 points in skills tapes to get 1 more bar of experimentation.


If you are just starting out, I would probably recommend putting your money into rare resources or better yet, into equipment that will provide you more long term success such as harvestors, factories,and generators (assuming you havesome means to locate raw resources).

I try to get a potency above 95 to cut down on resists. Then as long as the stim has a range of 32, I put the rest into effectiveness for damage.

Depends on what you want. Advanced infection amplifiers will increase damage, advanced dispersal mechs will increase range, and advanced resil compounds will increase potency or duration. as a general rule, advanced components of thepoor quality resources will be at least a little better than normal components.

Dunno about this, depends on the server and I have never sold my meds.

Yes, it is possible, and will probably improve your meds if your reasources are really good. I don't have any tapes though.

Thanks for the advice. I just bought a +14 crafting tool, and I think my station is +43?? so I'm pretty set there. I have been getting mostly "great" results. A few amazings and one or two crits.


I have a decent amount of mineral harvs, and have been buying gas and chem harvs also. There are many resources to track. I also had to buy a couple extra factories to try and make my crates of poison in less than a week


Tapes seem to be pretty expensive, does the extra point or two in experimentation really add much to the final product?

Well it depends on what you want. If you want "top-of-the-line" Meds then one or two experimentation points are worth alot. They give you an advantage over all other CMs with "only" 10 points of experimentation that use the same resources as you do.


If you just want to have decent meds then there is no need to spending money for skill tapes.

On the skill tapes, you have tyo have+10 experimentation to get one more experiment point when you are crafting. Also teh different tapes mhave to be in different pieces of clothes as they dont stack int eh same piece, but do when they are separate

Granted the system is getting removed tomorrow...

But a lot of these I needed to use 11 points in one bar to max that stat, and sometimes 12 (as in the ABEC's). Apparently the devs think crafting needs to be fixed in some way. I don't have a problem with a complex schem (like enhance D's) being able to use 11+ points on effectiveness, but on a simple one like the ABEC's, no more than 10 should be needed in any stat category.


**edit**just wanted to add that with an amazing success on a 5 pt exp for the ALS, I was able to get 192 power** It seems that amazing successes actually increase the maximum which is pretty cool.

the thing is .... with enough tries ... as i found ... i was able to max one stat (abecs) in 10 points ...

so annoying ... now i wish i'd waited to make my enh packcrates .... before patch all were around 944 power, 9585 duration, 20 uses, 91 med use today most of the ones I've made have been (with same ingrediants ... though my subs are coming out much better as well ...) 961 power, 11686 duration, 23 uses, 91 med use .... ARGH ... this is what I get for planning ahead :/


heh ... oh well ... tis annoying ... guess i'll make some subs and enhpacks this week again .... i'll be set for life ....


side note ... the same ALS' ingrediats I used to make 182's pre patch are now coming out at 100%, perfect 200's .... too bad I only have 2k of the berries left ....
