Call Whine-11 for a Waaaambulance..... I paid my fees, kept the power going, and hey, my harvesters are fine, and doesn't hurt my pocketbook any.
-Critical events when sampling have been increased in frequency.
-There are now more types of critical events in sampling.
-There is now a 25 second delay between sample attempts.
-The action pool cost of sampling has been increased.
25secconds... **edit**, should I just sit there with my thumb up my a$$ give me my time back. I could care less about the action pool, whatever they want.
I will probably just cancel now

Maybe you should try playing and see how these changes actually affect things before you whine, fubar. Critical events so far are only good. What else bad could they do besides "you get nothing on this attempt"? Take resources away from you? More critical events sounds good to me.
The 25-second delay may not be between every attempt, it may be between the attempt you can do typing /sample.
Could someone who's actually gone in-game give us more details on these changes? I personally don't mind the harvesting changes because mine are fine and I hate people who just run them into the ground and never pay maintenance and trash them.
However I do not like any changes to sampling that make me get less stuff. As an architect I require a large variety of resources, and I can't afford to have a harveter for every one of them. I rely on sampling for certain things like reactive gas for generators, etc. But I don't need so much I need a harvester for it. I need 400 to build a factory. That's a third what a harvester would get me in a day. But it already takes me an hour to sample that much by hand. Geeze, now I'll have to get a harvester for it, and horde a bunch I guess.

Are you stupid? Can you count. 10 secconds to 25 secconds more than doubles the time.
Usually I can gather 5-7k overnight in a 70% area... now its totally a waste of my time.
Not signed. The exploit and the bug went away. Good. Resources are actually worth something, and time is not free.
And Philo, use some of that cash you're getting to BUY those resources, RENT lots, HIRE surveyors, or SELL CHEAPER to a merchant. Easy solutions to your dilemma.
Philomorph nope -- it's charge back time, whine whine whine I agree Fubar, this sucks. Sony is going to lose my money as well. I barely could afford the time I was spending but now I have to spend more, and what is up with this critical error while sampling.
I should of charged back when -->
Hell I’m not even supported my system is kick ass but I have a wireless router, which works fine with everything else. I was told when I was having problems logging in, which was fixed in a latter patch, that they couldn't help me because of the wireless network. Funny I don't remember seeing that requirement anywhere. I was told I’d have to rewire my whole house. Then the issue was fixed had nothing to do with my high speed wireless router. Thanks for the help

It simply amazes me at the number of people saying that they're changing profession or worse, quitting the game altogether. I came into this game knowing it was an MMORPG in its early stages of development. I KNEW things would change, drastically. Some things would get better and some worse, all for the sake of balancing the game. Obviously, we got the shaft this time. If the devs deemed this necessary, then so be it. Stuff happens. Life sucks. GROW UP!!!! Think about all the people who will start SWG after the patch. Will they ever know of a time when resources could be gathered at extreme speeds? No. Where does that leave us? A bit ahead of the newbies because we had that much more chance at gathering resources. I say stick it out. If everyone leaves, that means less competition for those with a bit more patience.

The people posting "this doesn't effect me so i don't care" just want to limit the market to themselves. This change isn't going to have a large impact on people who are already in the upper echelon, its going to kill the new artisans off. Unless they implement a viable way for artisans to make money to at least support thier resource requirments, this is a bad bad thing. And dont give me this go make a trade run crud either. Trade runs are a worthless waste of time and you barely make anything off them. And artisans just get killed on combat missions.
Just becuase your already up in the high echelon of artisan or an advanced skill don't write off all the rest of us who can't afford to spend 23 hours a day playing.
