Thread: I got a rude email last night!
Last night I got an email from 'aqui'. It said something along the lines of 'stop selling your crappy stuff on the market for such a small amount. You ruin it for everybody'.
First of all, the statement contradicts itself. If my stuff is so crappy then it SHOULD be priced low. But it's not. I make some of the best powerups in my town--Corbantis Correllia Coronet. I price them around 300 credits each. I settled on this price by starting low and gradually increasing prices until I've now found a price range where I can move them fairly quickly and still keep the bazaar stocked. I think 300 credits each for a +30% +15% powerup is pretty fair--my own personal opinion is that for the amount of work and materials I put into this type of thing, that it's a good price. For the lower-demand items, I drop the price a bit. However, my own personal opinion aside, my prices are some of the highest ones on the market--other than those goofy 900 credit +6% listings that you see. I have certainly never seen one of aqui's fine goods for sale. He was also not on last night to defend his position.
I guess it's just someone trying to start some smack just for the sake of being a jerk, but it's still a bit disappointing when you're working hard, trying to help people out AND make a decent profit and you get some punk like this messing with you for no good reason. So, 'aqui', if you're out there I would like to hear a more detailed explanation for your email. Everyone else, thanks for listening to my rant!
That was a totally rude and unjustified email they sent you. Besides, the bazaar is based on people trying to sell their goods at competitive prices. Its basic economics. Is that person going to send an email toa company in the RWand complain because they are selling their wares cheaper than another company? I doubt it!
Keep making your power ups and anything else you wish and sell it at whatever price you desire! MORE POWER TO YA!

Agreed. Sell it for what you want. I mean, basically what a lot of people are suggesting is that the artisans go in for price fixing. Not me! You want to price fix? Fine! But I'm still selling my stuff for what I think it's worth, not for how much the artisan community can bleed people for. Let's see who' sells faster.
That said, I do look over what I'm selling seems to go for currently, and price accordingly. There's always some yahoo trying to sell a 30% powerup for 3000cr. No way would I pay that much, so I can assume nobody else would either. For instance, last night I went to buy resources, and some yahoo had pretty much filled up the local bazaar with blocks of 500 and was asking 3000cr for each. 6cr a resource point? I don't think so. I KNOW he's trying to make a 100%-150% profit on THOSE. nope. I'll wait until someone a little more reasonable comes along.
Supply and demand baby. let's keep each other honest. ![]()

Yeah, I placed some resources on the bazaar last night for 3000 cr per 1000. That's what I normally price out my resources just to be fair, but I will check the posts to see if people are dropping their price or raising it. There was someone on there who priced their's at 2999 cr per 1000. I know it seems kinda goofy, but if they want to do that, so be it. I'm not mad and I'm not going to send a rude email to them. I know, if people decide to buy their stuff, they will and when its sold out and they need more resources, then they'll buy my stuff.
I don't agree with price fixing, though. It starts to sound like a monopoly or something. Everyone wants to be competitive and we all should be. Otherwise, ALL Artisans need to join a PA and EVERYONE should sell the same thing at the same price to whoever wants it. It just sounds WAY too complicated and no one is going to go for it.

The emailing person was just blowing off their steam and fustration. Ignore them. It won't do you any good to get all upset about it.
And for the record the price you listed for your power-ups is quite resonable. Power-ups only last for a little while and use very little resourses. So it is nuts to demand a price much higher than yours. I would never ever pay 1K creds. for a power-up.
HOLY ****! I sell my 34/17's for 95! No one has sent me a grumpy e-mail yet=/.

Well, that's about where I started, and kept slowly increasing the prices, until I settled in at what I'm at now. They move pretty fast, but not TOO fast. Also, I'm just curious how you get the stats that high! That is awesome. The highest I've been is 31%, and that was over 900 Overall Quality on both materials!

You can sell those for much, much higher depending on where you're at. I get 4-800 cr. a piece. I sell my +30 min damage/+15 max damages for the highest as people seem to like those.
Try bumping your prices up a little to see how that works out for you. I'm sure you'll continue to sell them at a quick price and you won't be forcing all of us to lower our prices to compete.
Alright, **** you. This is something that gets me. Who cares if I sell it way below what you sell yours for? Powerups take TEN resources. Ten resources cost what? 50 creds at the MOST? You do the math. It's not like I intentionally had my price at 95 just so everyone would buy them, it's what seemed like a fair price to me.
Man.. I love economics 101
Guess what.. if you can make a reasonable amount of money and feel settled.. then screw the other guys
The problem is that due to the HUGE flow of money in to the economy.. people are more willing to jack up the prices cause they are greedy..
It is now settling into a less inflated economy and things are working slightly better then in the beginning.. we will see supply and demand winning out and the "mass producers" selling quanity for less and quality will be just slightly more
Go on with your bad self.. and sell till you can't sell no more
