man I hate these kinds of posts. which is the best? You must already know you are gonna just get arguements from both sides of the fence. And best at what? neither is best at making weapons, oh best at PvP? welp, doesnt matter as long as you have a pet. Oh your a wookie and cant wear armor? that changes things a bit.... wookies die to eyeshot pretty easy, they cant wear helmets.... but then again, those flamethrowers sure do alot of wound damage.

Dude, you cannot answer this question. say what you want. Like " I enjoy soloing Pve and am a casual gamer, which profession will I enjoy the best" or maybe "I am a team player and enjoy group PvP" or perhaps a little bit of both..... they all lead to different answers.

Perhaps its the "I am a 17 year old kid and all I want is the UUUBER L33TTT Pwner of all"

regardless, do yourself a favor and just play and do what you like. You can start the game and do it all if ya want, by the type you need to surrender stuff to concentrate on a certain thing, you will know what you want to be.

Amen, Skawin. I work in tech support for a university and we get questions like this all the time. Of course, they don't have anything to do with SWG, butwe'll get emails that say something like, "I can't logon to the Internet, can you tell me why?" Short answer: no. With the information you've provided, no.

Seriously, asking questions like this is basically useless. If we were all friends, we might be able to answer the question for you because we'd have a general idea as to what you like and don't like. But to say, "what is the best profession" is a meaningless question.

I suggest all newbies do what I did: play the game for 2 weeks or so and just do what seems like fun. If it sounds cool to shoot a gun, then do that. If it sounds fun to craft stuff, then try that out.

Some mightconsider my first two weeks a "waste" because ultimately I surrendered all the skills I developed during that learning process, but really it *wasn't* a waste because I got a feel for the game. I tried out new skills, talked to people, and started seeing what others were doing. The first time you see that BH lightning gun or a CH's rancor, you're like "Whoa, that's cool."

SWG is like the Matrix in that you can't tell someone about it -- you have to experience it.

Hi all i'm fairly new to SWG but i'm having a blast.........after 3 weeks of dabbling i have decided to go Master Rifleman/Master Swordsman........My question is , do i master the Brawler tree for Warcry/Berserk 2 or Master Marksman for Overcharge 2.........or do i do neither and put the rest of the points elsewhere

Ps this is forPvE for the time being anyway........and i will be mostly out hunting solo (most of my time ingame is at ungodly hours)

Thanks in advance

Warcry and Lunge 2 from master brawler are much more effective for melee than overcharge 2 is for ranged.. however, you receive an extra +5 rifle speed from MM as well as some accuracy. If you can find a +5 rifle speed tape (they can be expensive), I'd go for the brawler.. You'll never use overcharge 2 though.

Greetings to my peers.

I want to ask a question. I've been playing since christmas but i still consider my self a noob as i don't get online as much as I would like. I am at the moment master artisan and master marksman with a bit of scout and a bit of medic. I was not sure what elite to go for. I then decided armosmith. It was then I realised (doh!) that I would not have enough skills points to completer any elite profession unlessI dropped something. But I would like to have kept medic (healing myself and others in battle) and also scout for getting resources.

Can anyone give their input on what they think would be a good way to go.

Thanks to all. (and isn't this game great:smileyhappy

I'd suggest that you drop your master artisan status. You don't need the entire class to be an armorsmith. Hang onto the tree there that takes you into armorsmith, as well as the surveying, and ditch the rest. Also you might wish to lose the master marksman. Pick one of the 3 guns that you like using the best and dump the other three trees. That should free enough points for you to be able to dabble into the elite proffesion of your chosen weapon as well as mastering Armorsmith.
