To end a looped macro, the easiest way is to switch to another hotkey bar that has no hotkey or a harmless one in that space. Mine is in the same space as my /stand command is in my regular hotkey bar. So when it runs it's course, it makes me stand and I am good to go. You can also do things like delete the macro from the key (just put it back when you want to use it), or quit the game. Other than quitting though, there is no way to stop the macro in the middle.

Okay.....let me get this straight.

You got a program to play the game FOR you. You bought a game, and then had your computer play it FOR you. Doesn't this seem a little.....pathetic?

And please, don't give me the "But we have lives" argument. I have a job, a wife, and a kid. I have a life, and I like playing a game for an hour or two every few days to relax. I can get by in these games just fine, and do rather well, too.

Anyone who feels the need to be "The Best" at a game but doesn't want to put the work in has an inferiority complex. And is lazy, to boot. I've also noticed that these selfsame people are the ones who think cheating on an exam is just fine. Same outlook on life. They want something for nothing.

In the F11 Slot

/sample; /pause 1000; /sit; /ui action toolbarSlot11;

In the F12 slot

/pause 450; /stand; /ui action toolbarSlot10;

To start it have them in their F11 and F12 slots and hit F11. To stop it move the macros to slot F9 and F10 and wait for the pause to time out without changing Panes. Set your pauses to suit your mind to make it as efficient as possible. If they want to remove this function they will remove the /sample command from the interface. Dedicated Artisans build harvesters and small timers set up a macro to get stuff to mess around with.

Why even macro if you migrate your stamina and will power over 550 you will regain the points used and more. I do this never have to sit period and my HAM bar stays full. No down time just 100% sampleing time.

Bushwa,

Can I ask a simple question. Why do you even care. It effects you in no way whatsoever. Is it that you just need "something" to bitch about like so many other, yuo just aren't happy unless your complaining.

Happy AFK sample at the keyboard or not until they remove it from the game.

P.S. Got an issue? Here's a tissue.

One more note.

If you would like me to even look at your arguments seriously then why not hit the problem at the root? AFK samplers are not the casue of "whatever" your beef is. I can sum the problem up in one simple line of text.

/ui action toolbarSlotxx

There is the issue. If you think Artisans are the only ones that abuse this you are sadly mistaken my friend.

/startdance Rythmic

/flo 1

/pause 20

/flo 2

/pause 20

/sit

/pause 360

/stand

/pasue 5

/ui action toolbarSlotxx

Get to a highly populated area of non argo creatures..

/maskscent

/pause 60

/ui action toolbarSlotxx

I could keep going and going. The fact is that you are all over the Samplers like they are the only ones that do this gives your agument no power.

If you see this as such a serious problem the petition for the removal of /ui action toolbarSlotxx (You will have many pissed off people all over you since there are many great uses for this other than looping). Or just have a nice warm cup of **edit** and lay off the artisans.

Thanks 8)

You should really try reading the thread sometime. I haven't complained about anything or anyone. I'm simply pointing out the risks you take if you choose to AFK Macro.

Generally speaking AFK macroers have a trivial effect on my game play, although it would piss me off to be locked out of a full server knowing that a few hundred of 'em are AFK macroing - but that hasn't happened to me yet on Radiant.

All my posts are either an FYI about the game policies regarding AFK macroing, the reasons for them, or answering posts such as this that veer further and further from the facts of the topic every time. :-)

Mine is a "middle-of-the-road" opinion of a casual gamer. Without AFK sampling, there would be no "casual" arisans - they would go another route out of sheer boredom before they got anywhere as an artisan (unless they have lots of friends or PA donations/support behind them).

1) In order to get to the point of having harverstors and generators and crafting things that have value on the market enough to support that ongoing need to maintainharvestors and generators, you have to either sample or buy your resources/infrastructure on the market. If you want to be an artisan, then most won't want to spend the time necessary to do missions enough to outright buy your own crafting infrastructure - half the fun is building it yourself, like I have done.

2) Sampling is boring - although there are some necessary things you can do while sampling to kill the time (crafting), if you want to experiment on your goods, you have to be near a public crafting station. Has anyone ever looked at the resources and concentrations available infront of a crafting station ? Not good at all, so sampling is fairly useless in that situation.

In my mind it's kind of a catch 22 for starting artisans - either do some hings you don't enjoy doing in order to buy your resources and infrastructure, or else sample the resources to get yourself out of the gates, find a market for your low end goods, and put a little money in the bank (or you could sell your resources for cash but then you miss out on the crafting XP). I only AFK macro sample occasionally now that I am supporting my infrastructure (barely), but until recently I would turn the PC on when I got home from work, find a good resource and start a macro. I would then play with the kids, cut the grass, cook dinner, do the finances - whatever. For a grand total of about 90 minutes. Then I would either turn off the PC, or sit down and use those resources I just sampled to better myself. Personally, I don't see what's wrong with that.

For those that leave a macro sample running while they are at work or sleeping, I don't know how I feel about that, but that's not how I haven chosen to use this option that SOE has given us - I use it just enough so I can continue to enjoy playing the game as an Artisan. Just my opinion.

I dunno what it is....its probably something simple...but whenever I run it...it does everything up until the /ui action toolbarSlot17; The macro just ends and it doesn't call itslef back up again. I have the macro setting in my F8 slot of the second row of toolbar buttons. Any clue where the bug is?
