Thread: Vehicle Pricing ?
I admit that with my previous post I, like many others, I missed the point of this thread. I believe the original poster wanted to find a basic price range that everyone could work from. If I'm wrong, feel free to skip the rest of this post
If I'm right, how about this:
(The following is based on the assumption of needed materials being X34 Landspeeder - 4250, Swoop Bike - 6000, Speeder Bike - 8000. If this is inaccurate, adjust prices accordingly)
Low level vehicles (ie resources with SR 1-450) 3 CPU
X34 Landspeeder - 12,750
Swoop Bike - 18,000
Speeder Bike - 24,000
Mid Level Vehicles (ie resources with SR 451-900) 6 CPU
X34 Landspeeder - 25,500
Swoop Bike -36,000
Speeder Bike - 48,000
High Level Vehicles(ie resources with SR 901-1000) 10 CPU
X34 Landspeeder - 42,500
Swoop Bike - 60,000
Speeder Bike - 80,000
Personally, I will be selling them for less than these prices, but I'm sure those of you selling in these ranges will have MORE than enough willing customers. As I said, I'm merely posting this because I think this is what this thread was looking for... just a basic pricing guide vehicle crafters can refer back to. Until next, fare thee well.
If you never sell anything, then you're doing something wrong and I doubt it has anything to do with a too high of price. There's always a sell.
Scalping is just as bad as gouging. It's ignorant of how the economy really works. You don't sell low to keep people from being ripped off. That's a pipe dream. People are going to pay what they want and you can lure people to your tents, and that's cool. But on the street prices are always going to be what the customer and dealer agrees too.
Talking about how to price on a board that is read by servers with very different economies does no good either. Every server is going to have a price the market can bear. This type of discussion should be done on those boards.
You're still missing the point. I harvest my own resources as well, and with my extraction rates and resource percentages my cost is usually around 0.2 cpu. So sure, I can make a nice profit at 2 cpu, but why would I do that when I can sell the resources I harvest to various crafters for 5-6 cpu, with no risk of losing them due to crit failures? I don't need artisan xp, and no one else will afer they craft a handful of these things, so where's the logic in selling a finished product below what you could charge for the base resources? What, does turning steel and aluminum into something highly desireable actually devalue the resources in your mind?

I can sell for that cheap cause I harvested all the resources we're going to be using.
DMAN i wish you were on my server....i would buy your vendor OUT and resell it all.
dman can you come to Kauri and do this PLEASE???????? man you would be making my life SOOO easy. lol
FLURRY find this chick and BUY her out, then resell at whatever price you want....**edit** PLEASE COME TO KAURI.
Hate to break it to you, but you're not going to change anything.
Have fun though. That's all what the game should be about.
There *is* a certain segment of the population that is willing and able to spend credits for the "best," whether it's a weaponry, armor, resources, or anything else. That may or may not extend to vehicles. But, I'm going to try to provide low-end, midrange, and high-end models so people have more options at their disposal. It'll be interesting, to say the least.

The only reason a master artisan needs general crafting xp is to get into an elite crafting profession. At the current rate of xp it will only take a few vehicles to get that xp. Beyond that you're shooting yourself in the foot.

Selling raw resources doesn't give artisan XPs, crafting vehicles does...
Unless you plan to master a lot or Elite professions...

Eaca,
I want to see you two banning those 150 Merchants out of the crowd of 300 People crowding your vendors and slapping there Heads laughing about your missunderstanding of economy. You cant type fast enough to ban them before they made millions by reselling. UAHAHAHAHA (I really should create a char on your server to enjoy the show)
Supposed your dream worked out, plz think about the following:
Well, you may be a christiansoul to those poor people, who can´t afford a vehicle at "normal" price. But who are those people? Most of them will be absolute Newbees,Artesians and Master Artisans who didnt make their way to profitable regions of the elite proffesions. All other people can make money like hell and just laugh about you. And exactly those really poor Artesians, who now see the light to earn money by crafting vehicles themselves and sell them, won´t earntheir first real money because you are pricebreaking. so they won´t buy nice clothes and their first real gun, but love you for your good ideas-The only ones you are really hurting are those little Artesians not the "Gaugers" and not the rest of customers, they just laugh.

The resource costs on live will be:
X34 Landspeeder - 4250 res
Swoop Bike - 6000 res
Speeder Bike - 8000 res
---------------------------
The real resorce cost is:
X34 Landspeeder - 4250 res
Swoop Bike - 8000 res
Speeder Bike - 6000 res
Dont charge low in the begining, its something new and will not repeat.
People wasted time and money to be master artisan and harvester tons of resources for this event, if u go selling for low prices u will hurt yourself and all the others.
Vehicles is something big to swg, selling them for a price that takesmany 1 destroy mission to achieve its ridiculous.
Im master architect and i sell best harvester rate for 10cpu and.... ppl buy all the time, dont be afraid u will sell vehiclesfor that or even more if u dont believe me do this...
Start with10cpu in your shop and check if the ppl that enter your shop leaves without buying something, i bet u will have a big suprise ...
