WOW, do not mean to be a jerk or anything, but three pages and no one got it right. The mood commands will let you know if the macro is still running or expired. All you need to do to find out if it is running is type /mood. If you are tired it is running, if your mood is none it is done. You place the macro into your toolbar, to stop the macro from running move it to a different slot of your toolbar. The pause commands may differ for your character, these are for my artisan. The UI bit creates the loop.

Make an in game macro, call it what you will, with these commands:

/mood tired;
/kneel;
/sample;
/pause 720;
/sit;
/pause 180;
/mood none;
/ui action toolbarSlot00;

Enjoy! I have tested this overnight and during weekends with VERY good success. Matter of fact it has never let me down. Make sure you are at full health with no wounds. And be sure to watch out for MoBs.

OH, and by the way, be sure to turn Auto-AFK OFF in your options. No kicks that way. If you wish to alert people to you being AFK simply use the /afk toggle to do so...

You don't have to turn auto-afk off, it makes no difference. Make sure that you don't go 10 minutes without issuing a comman; THAT will get you kicked.

There is actually a way to stop recursive macros from reiterating. All you have to do is move the macro icon to a different slot on the toolbar. When the macro reaches the end of the script and tries to call itself, it will fail, and end. Then, just move the icon back for later use.

I am relatively new to running macros so I didn't completely follow the mac commands or .txt logic. But, I did create the following sampling macro yesterday and it ranall night.I gained 7,400 surveying xp and about 1400 metal samples in7 1/2 hours.

Use the standard game macro. Create the macro. I called mine SAMPLEMACRO. The macro steps are as follows.

/sample

/pause 400

/stand

/pause 400

/macro SAMPLEMACRO

The first pause gave me 400 seconds to sample. I wasn't sure what the pop-up boxes for finding a "rich" sources would do so I added the stand command after the pause. The second pause gives me 400 seconds to allow my green bar to heal. The last step re-executes the entire macro again.

I have to say that a lot of you are making it way too complicated.Sysfixnet was the closest to my lil macro that runs non stop and has never let me down.I created an in-game macro with the following :

/sample; /pause 3; /sit; /pause 60; /stand; /ui action toolbarSlot14;

Note the Cap S in slot because it doesn't seem to work without that cap.This is because my macro icon goes in the Shft-F4 slot but you can change to any slot you have free.They are numbered 00-11 on the first row and 12-23 on the 2nd row,

Also to stop any running macro there is a simple command you can type in to pause all chains: /dump

that will cause all chains running to stop

You can also go the route of puting a .txt file in the SWG directory and creating an alias but for something this small it just complicates the matter and isn't really necessary in my opinion.

I've sent my macro in-game to anyone requesting and it seems to work beautifully.Even gets past the higher concentration box that comes up and foils some macros.

I was wondering if someone was going to mention the /dump command.

Sometimes it works better to make a /dump macro so you just have to click on it from the toolbar.
