On Radiant, I sell at:


X-34: 19k

Speederbike: 26k

Swoop: 34k


For my server, that's actually a little on the expensive side. So, I've gone around, and found the people who sell them the cheapest, bought their ENTIRE supplies, and resold them at my prices. I have a couple of REALLY cheap vehicle vendors that I frequently empty...and I also empty anyone who sells for less anywhere near my two stores.


It makes me money, it makes them money...just makes a little more for me.


But yeah, I haven't actually MADE a vehicle in quite some time. I just make plenty of dough selling 'em.

Serious question (not a flame and not just directed at this poster - there was the other poster who is selling at roughly the same prices and claims "is making plenty of money") ....


Why are you bother making the vehicles?


Even if you're using grind resources,I would suggest you just sell the resources instead of going through the bother of crafting vehicles- you'll make more profit (or at least the same) plus you can easily sell resources in larger volumes and in bundles of 100K. You'll also sell the resources much faster and therefore, get your credits back much, much quicker. And on any server, you can sell grind resources for 2 to 2.5 cpu. (ya ya, I'm sure there are those that sell for less, but I'm talking average - not one-offs)


If the answer is "Because I just like crafting and making bikes" then I'll accept that but I genuinely would like to know ....


Why are you bothering making vehicles? ... when you're selling them for less (or the same) than you can sell the resources to make it?

Yes that is the sad reality with the current vehicle system. You can make much more money selling the raw materials than the actual product.


I used to sell vehicles and now i stick with droids 100%. Why?


Not many people are willing to pay for a quality experimentedvehicle. They want their vehicles cheap.


Hopefully this will not carry over into shipbuilding when JTL comes out.

Hello OckVofad (and Everyone),


"Not many people are willing to pay for a quality experimentedvehicle. They want their vehicles cheap."


What if:

1. Vehicles have different HAM "decay rates" based on the experimentation success. Instead of all swoops decaying at -50 per tick we'd have 90% swoops decaying at -25 instead for example.

2. And/Or the maximum HAM gets reduced per repair session at the garage (again, based on the experimentation success rate)--like the condition stat for armor, clothes, and weapons.


To balance these out, reduction of the overall speed of decayfor all vehicles will be scaled down--the money sink for players would primarily come from having to replace their vehicles eventually. The consumers (non-MA player base) may go into an uproar if the speed of decay we have now is maintained--and have a lot of them switch to mounts instead!


People can buy low-quality, cheap vehicles as a choice (especially the newbies) but with additional benefits to a high-quality vehicle it'll be easier to justify the higher price.

You know I help people out? When they can't afford it, I sell them landspeeders. If they can't afford 3CPU for a swoop. Then they are going to encounter troubles repairing a Swoop... Plus I make 2.7k landspeeders. I blame the trial accounts for low prices, since you can master artisan in a day. A week if you are lazy about it. I am really lazy and it took almost two weeks. When I started, when the trial accounts really got out into the open, swoops were going for 40k on bloodfin, they still are, but there was a couple sellers out in Tat, when swoops dropped to 20k and below, they went back to corellia and naboo, I think. Or went into another profession. I mastered artisan because I thought I was going to be able to get some money to stockpile so that I could master two elite crafting professions or something. Right now I am having trouble selling personals. I sold a few at 2k and now selling at 1k and hopefully will start getting more people to buy them since I can tell them to just junk your old personal, save 500 credits and buy from me! I will drop these prices further to probably 750 credits and hopefully will sell more.

I like the fact that you are giving some constructive ideas. Your first idea already happens- vehicles decay faster based on their quality but people either dont know or dont care.


Your second idea is very worthwhile and something I'd like to see implimented.
