News from TC5 suggests there's a whole new dynamic behind delay mods for specials, so for all we know, 2h Melee Speed could be worthless now.

You know, if you're asking persons who care enough to post on the ID fourm if they enjoy ID, then you're likely to get some positive responses. That said, I think Carbineer/ID would be a fun combonation. Able to Fight and look good doing it....go for it.
DO IT!!!! i am a commando/id and it is so funu can fight and look good, lol anyways would if one king of armor makes you look fat, i mean you could slim down in 10secs if ya wanted to. lol just do it it will be fun

ID is a very enjoyable profession, however, like all other professions, its what YOU choose to make of it.
Pre-CU I had a master dancer/entertainer/ID/musician. I respeced her to: Master ID, Master Armorsmith, 4000 smuggler. with 4110 entertainer. She is very self sufficient as an armorsmith, with the ability to buy faction to get armor schematics, she can dance to inspiration buff herself (for experimentation) and of course she can image design.
Have fun, and do it for yourself. Don't do it for others.

I would say it's not adviseable, I say this on behalf that ID is a VERY fun profession. Saying this I would say not to do it because combat wise you will be not very effective as master carbineer you will only be combat level 54 which is fine unless you are a big game hunter and like to go to the more dangerous planets.

Bah, don't listen to that. Maybe you can't big game hunt solo....but grouped and playing smart, maybe hanging back juuust a little more than the others when you need, and you can still have one helluva time fighting and IDing. I happily play with a Pikeman/Dancer and a TK Musician, and a Rifleman/Tailor/Hairstylist
. (can design the ultimate clothing and hairstyle combo in a heavy combat zone
) As someone else said, its what you make of it. Don't give in to the level scheme! Its the darkside!

is being a master artisan even worth it? I mean all they can really make is vehicle restoration kits that they sell for ridiculous prices. Ya ya i know what it takes to make it, but still.

Powerups, Food, Vehicles, Crafting tools, Customisation Kits etc... all made by Artisans, all sell pretty well.

So what is it about the other professions that overshadow the artisan?
