I'm going to sell them for what they're worth... 3-5cpu.

The grind to master artisan was not that long/hard... try master DE sometime.

You know, I just have to laugh every time I see one of these "price fixing" posts.

For the last few weeks I've had my heavy harvesters sucking resources, good steel and various non-ferrous metals, from the ground because I knew beyond a doubt that this was going to be the moment for me to make an enormous amount of credits. I figure that my materials have cost me around .28 credits per unit, give or take a hundredth of a credit (the harvesters I've had for such a long time that my droid and armor business have more than paid for them and fusion power costs about .1 credit per unit to pull from the ground).

I have some 1000 SR steel I will use to make my limited edition vehicles and will sell them for 4-6 credits per resource used (along with a 991 copper). I have a few hundred thousand units of mid 900's steel that I will use along with a comparable non-ferrous for 3-5 credits per resource.

But if I sold for 1 credit per resource used, I would still make a profit. Not a lot, but a profit nonetheless.

You see, its not just about the vehicles. If I gouge my customers, the loyal ones who know I will do anything in my power to give them quality at a low price, they won't remain my customers. I sell more than just vehicles, I sell droids and armor as well, and if I gain a reputation for price gouging people are going to go elsewhere.

So please, go ahead and charge outrageous prices for vehicles. On Starsider, I know that I will not only increase my profits, but my reputation and long-term business as well.

My second account, is a master ch. When mounts hit the scene it was pure mayhem. I tried my best to do right to the people and sell for as low as icould go and not rip off people. What did i learn, people would buy my mounts and turn around and sell them for more. Did my prices go up, you bet. I ask them to make an offer, if i like it, ill take it, if ive had a good day and the offer happened to a low offer, i might take it. Its always better to ask for forgiveness than permission I always say, so get what you can and dont say sorry when they flinch at the price.

I'm baffled by the seemingly large contingent of people who seem dead set that resources are worth 3 credits a piece, and the things we craft with them 4 credits + 10% (or for you mathemeticians out there, 4.4 credits per unit).

Why are you not taking into account the amount of money out there? Because of mission terminals, the economy has inflated. Some people are walking around with over a million credits in their pocket. Many people constantly have more than 500k in their pockets at all times. And many others are consistantly over 100k. The value of money is changing. It's a lot less than you think it is.

Why are your prices locked? Just because the price of a harvester is locked? Running a harvester isn't the only price associated with being a crafter. We have clothing. We have weapons. We have armour. We use mounts. All these things cost money, and every day everyone else is charging more and more. It is getting more and more expensive to be a crafter.

If you think weapons and armour and mounts are expensive, it's because you are not selling your powerups and light harvesters for enough money. They are charging a fair price. You are deluded. Get over it already.

I think it's time to forget about what a fair price is or isn't, and learn a little about economics.
