Thread: This is a good crafting macro... Look here!

Hehe. It might have been nice if someone, among the many who posted it,had pointed that out. You'd think that people used to creating macros would realise that gettingthe case rightis essential.

Anyway, I figured that might be the case, so I tried all the combinations of upper case letters, and I think it still didn't work - maybe I missed that one though. The /ui action defaultButton thing works fine anyway.

Since June 2004, running one of the game's first completely nonviolent characters. Testing the limits of non-combat MMORPG play and trying to have fun into the bargain (although the developers make it difficult).

Combat is no longer compulsory.

OK...this is my crafting macro using a craftstation...

/ui action toolbarSlotxx;
/sel xx;
/pause 10;
/nextc;
/nextc;
/nextc;
/createPrototype practice no item;
/createPrototype practice no item

and this one is my macro when I'm camping...

/ui action toolbarSlotxx;
/sel xx;
/pause 10;
/nextc;
/nextc;
/createPrototype practice no item;
/createPrototype practice no item

I can't get them to work no matter how I tweak it or capitalize...I have made sure I go to the middle of nowhere when I use the second macro...

I always get the "crafting session has ended" message right after I select my resources...on the plus side..It does selecet the correct schematic.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I have a macro much like this, except with /pause 1 between the /nextc, just in case. One thing I can't get it to do is to actually MAKE things. If I cut "practice noitem" out of the createPrototype lines, the macro goes through the motions, but doesn't actually use up resources or produce XP. (If you wonder why I want the items, I'm grinding Chef. Eating the Soypro I make yields more User XP than I get from the practice bonus. Soypro, like Alcohol, is just a component of food and has no filling.)

I had read somewhere that in order to get a crafting macro to work you need to go into miscellaneous options and turn off crafting confirmation screens.

There is a confirmation screen for the assembly and create prototype stages.

Could this be why people are getting 'Crafting Session has ended" messages?

I run the above macro with a /pause 3 after each stage and I found that I had to space the crafting tools every other space in the hotbar to get them to craft the actual items. I use slots 2, 4, and 6. If i run them in adjacent slots like 2,3,4, then it doesnt make the items but instead gives me the message that I am already crafting at the add resource screen. Also make sure you have removed the practice noitem from the macro as well and adjusted the macro to reflect the new locations of the tools.

Can somebody post an EXACT macro they use for crafting, I have tried every different way posted here but none work. I get to were I put in the resources then it sits for a few then says crafting session ended..and takes my resources.

Any help will be great.

If you use the practice no item command and get XP after it says: "Crafting Session Ended", then everything is ok.

To the person several posts above me:

The macro from the thread-starter does work fine, I've just adapted it to my personal needs to grind through Camping (Survival XP). And the "The crafting session has ended" message is nothing to worry about. It works...
Well anyway, here's my camping crafting macro. i use it to craft Multiperson Camp kits and have one weaps,droids,generic crafting tool in F1 (which is Slot00 to the macro!!!), one weaps,droids,generic crafting tool on F2 (which is Slot01 to the macro!!!), my STARTER macro is on F4 (Slot03 to the macro!!!) and my second macro on F3 (Slot02 to the macro!!!)

My STARTER macro:

/ui action toolbarSlot00; ( <- remember, Slot00 is the F1 hotbar, where I have the first tool)
/sel xxx; ( <-in my case, this is 11 for the Camping Kit...)
/pause 4; ( <-I'm a quick clicker with only 2 resources...)
/nextcraftingstage;
/nextcraftingstage;
/createprototype practice no item;
/nextcraftingstage;
/stopcraftingsession;
/createprototype practice no item;
/pause 3;
/ui action toolbarSlot02; ( <- which sets of my second macro, F3 on the hotbar, but Slot02 to the macro...)

My SECOND macro (which is basically the exact same with one or two different Numbers):

/ui action toolbarSlot01; ( <- Selects my SECOND tool, on F2, Slot01)
/sel xxx; ( <- again 11 for the camping kit)
/pause 4;
/nextcraftingstage;
/nextcraftingstage;
/createprototype practice no item;
/nextcraftingstage;
/stopcraftingsession;
/createprototype practice no item;
/pause 3;
/ui action toolbarSlot03; ( <- This sets off the first macro again with the first crafting tool, which in that exact second has finished producing the prototype item, thus creating an infinite loop where you only have to click the resources. The first /pause XX is the time you need to click the resources. Vary it if you're slow or use lots of different resources. he SECOND /pause XX in EACH macro is there because crafting tools take time to craft stuff. You need to experiment a lot until you find the exact duration of the crafting process for the desired schematic, thus avoiding the use of a crafting tool when it's still crafting something else...)

So when I click my STARTER macro it boots the first crafting tool, I click the resources, craft, the macro sets off the second macro, I click the resources, craft, the second macro sets off the first macro again....

Of course you need to set up a way to stop the macro cycle, I use another hotbar macro with /dump; this ends the macro process...

Well, this works fine with me, I can assure you, but if you craft something else with it, you have to adapt it I guess. To really be good at macroing, you have to understand the game mechanics, so don't complain if you just copy/paste stuff you've found somewhere posted and it doesn't work....

Cheers...

I prefer this one, I use 12 tools, and have 3 separate looping macros

First macro is called Crafter1

/ui action toolbarSlot12;

/sel XX;

/pause 4;

/nextCraftingStage;

/nextCraftingStage;

/nextCraftingStage;

/createPrototype practice no item;

/createPrototype practice no item;

/pause 1;

/ui action toolbarSlot13;

/sel XX

/pause 4;

/nextCraftingStage;

/nextCraftingStage;

/nextCraftingStage;

/createPrototype practice no item;

/createPrototype practice no item;

/pause 1;

/ui action toolbarSlot14;

/sel XX

/pause 4;

/nextCraftingStage;

/nextCraftingStage;

/nextCraftingStage;

/createPrototype practice no item;

/createPrototype practice no item;

/pause 1;

/ui action toolbarSlot15;

/sel XX

/pause 4;

/nextCraftingStage;

/nextCraftingStage;

/nextCraftingStage;

/createPrototype practice no item;

/createPrototype practice no item;

/pause 1;

/macro crafter2;

The second macro is the almost the same, except with these changes

1)Instead of toolbarSlot 12 through15 it should be 16 through 19

2)the last line should read /macro crafter3;

Third macro again is the same but these changes

1) toolbarSlot20 to toolbarSlot23

2) last line reads /macro crafter1;

The twelve tools of choice need to go into the bottom row of your quickslots. All you need in the top row is the first macro - Crafter1

and it would be a good idea to make a macro with the line /dump; in it, since trying to type /dump with a recursive macro running is really annoying.

As you notice these macros will loop infinitely until you type /dump

Notice that the timing means you can make 12 items a minute with this macro. It is best if you do this in a less populated area. I preferred to take my resources with me along with a crafting droid about 2k out of town. Thiswill solve some of your lag problems. Despite this you may need to adjust the /pause 4; and /pause 1; lines. Also a more complex schematic may need more double clicks. I found that I needed 6 seconds in order to do Heavy Warhead Mechs, what with all the slots you needed to fill. With this macro here I can do the entire line of Doctor crafting in just over 30 minutes. Also managed to master both chef AND tailor in a single day with it.

This macro was refined by myself during 6 months of hologrinding, and I have yet to find one faster. Hope it helps you.

If you have any trouble writing this macro or using it, please send a tell or email to valcyn.veusheesras. That will work on any server. I just love cross server tells and email . If anyone doesnt know, you can send a tell to other servers by putting the server name before the player name separated by a period. So if you have a friend named Dood on bria server, and you are on Farstrider, you can send him a tell by typing /t bria.dood Hey dood, whats up?

,Veusheesras Teacas (Master of the Hologrind)

P.S. I made a mistake. I can do the crafting line of medic in 30 minutes, it takes 90 minutes to do the Doctor line

New problem, since publish 11.4

Counting the schematics may no longer give the right schematic number!

This is the case if you've sorted anything under the list-view.

There is no way to sort according to schematic number, and AFAIK no way to reset to default-sorting.
