I couldn't agree more with all of you its like sayed from god and its right people grind there way to master BUT when they get there then they discover that all the fun was the journey to master and also they don't take time to enjoy their time with the people they are with and all the wonderfull places they visit.

But also some is grinding profession after profession to what use they do it so fast that the acctualy just should ask the devs to make them a character that was master jedi hehe if you see where im going, there is no fun in being the best but there is fun in trying to be the best

I had to...

RP'ing as a stormtrooper, and refusing to be a covert stormtrooper.....for survival..I had to.

But it still took me a good 3 months to complete my template...due to me getting a promotion and spending my online time dealing with recruits instead of patrolling heh.

A lot of people who make "I quit" threads aren't quitting because of the FS grind.. it's that SWG just plain sucks and won't get any better.

I've made a comfortable living in a few crafting profs and have never hit master in any of them...so the idea that you can't make money except as a master is bogus. It's about finding target and niche markets and services.

Anyway, people sometimes grind because they believe that the game is somehow different "at the higher levels". While it's true that there are some things you can't do until you've achieved certain things in game (playing a Jedi being the most obvious) the fundamental mechanics of playing SWG don't change that much as you fill in boxes. So if you don't like killing a nest of gubbers as a novice marksman, you're probably not going to have an orgasm over soloing a nest of gurks or rancoras a elite whatever. You'll be earning more money, which will let you collect things...some people love that, others do not.

I don't care to grind, I have more fun when I don't worry about the XP flow. My friends in game tend to agree with me.

I just have to say this to all the people who post the "I quit" messages: You're not supposed to play the same game for ten hours a day for a year straight. No kidding there's not enough content when you play that much. I get two maybe three hours at a time to play at most. The game hasn't lost it intrigue for me yet. I still very much enjoy it. Yeah, I agree, grinding is stupid. That's the good thing about this game you don't have to be a super uber character to complete the majority of the quests. Go out and enjoy the game. Thanks and have a nice day!

More like "Lack of Content."

To the Original poster: Seriously though, I see your point and it's not that Idisagree, I just haven't seen that many "I quit because FS xp will be hard." I saw I quit because......blah blah CR...blah..blah.. Jedi sucks....Blah.. Blah.. GCW...Blah...Blah...CM sucks...blah..blah.... I lost faith in the devs......ect...ect....ect. So "I quit because FS xpwill be to hard" is a new one to me. Haven't seen that one. For pvp'ersthey'll need to grind for jedi or atleast FSif they want to compete after pub 10. So If they feel like they don't want to grind then they should quit. However FS will effect every profession eventually. So all will basicly take up grinding. Hec this game is one big grind.Only thing that will differ between players is how fast they do it. So is it written that you have to grind? No. Most will have to though, to compete one way or the other probably.Whether it be for those extra experimentation points for better wares or to get more defences people will have to if they want to sellthe best or be the best.

Honestly if JTL wasn't on the horizon I would quit. I have explored, I have had fun in battles and I have played the game and I can't find a whole lotto interest me at the moment.JTL will keep me busy for awhile I am sure. But some people may not like twitch games or may like to play the ground game more. I am lucky that I believe I will find fun times again in JTL. But for those that wish for ground content, well there really isn't alot to offer once you've done it or seen it. And the lastest content that has rolled in was hardly fun for most that have tried it. But thats another post.

The reason they've mde the FS Trees require so much FS Exp. tomaster is to help keep the Jedi population down.

What SOE & the players who whine that there are too many Jedi fail to realize is that keeping the Jedi population down = keeping subscriptions down, period. There are more creative ways to give the players what they want while at the same time making them "APPEAR" rare. This would be a win-win if SOE would think outside the box enough to make it happen.

Can someone please show me where in the game it says that you are required to grind through things as fast as you can?

I have only ever done the grind once and that was a holocron(Master Tailor) all my other holocrons I did over a week or so, Creature Handler was my last and I was already halfway there so,

The reason they've mde the FS Trees require so much FS Exp. to master is to help keep the Jedi population down.

If they keep people from being Jedi then it will be death of the game. Jedi are what the movies were about.

SW Ep 1 to 3 was Anakin`s journey to becoming a Jedi. EP 4 to 6 was Luke`s Jedi journey.

You people start whining at the very thought of so much exp. and cry "Oh no! Not another grind!"

Where in the rules does it say you have to grind?

You're not supposed to get Jedi in a matter of days. It should take a long time to get anywhere near Jedi, actually.

It should take a reasonable amout of time to get to the point a being a Jedi. After that it should be harder to become a the higher level ranked Jedi.

I suggest to anyone thinking of quitting because you don't want to go through another "grind" to take a step back and breathe.

Try playing the game to just have fun!

It's the best advice I've heard on these forums.

Don't play SWG with the attitude that you must hurry through the game to Master everything ASAP.

Play the game to explore, fight some fun battles, and make new friends.

There is only so much to explore and when you get POI badges they aren't anything special.

I play SWG because I like my guildmates and I like crafting armor.

I, myself, am working towards TKM/Master Musician.

I don't sit there and macro-grind my way through Musician. I don't go and sit for 3 hours waiting for buffs in Coronet, then go take Quenker missions to grind my way through Teras Kasi.

When I feel like sitting back and having some social time, I find a cantina and play. I talk to the customers and have as best a time I can.

When I feel like doing some fighting, I go somewhere and just run around on foot killing things I can handle as I go, and have fun seeing what I can find in the worlds.

I think it is unfair to tell people how to play the game. One persons styles does not fit anothers.

I did Swordsman in a week and had a blast doing it even while I was grinding it.

Going to the Squill Caves and coming out with 100 BF and just constantly fighting for 3 hrs while I was buffed was the best fun that I had in ages.

You don`t and won't know who fun it can to do things like untill you try it.

Basically, if you cannot play the game to just have fun, then just go ahead and quit. There's nothing left here for you.

I think it is wrong for you to say "Don't grind, have fun" I find grinding fun. I don't complain about lack of content (though this game has a surprising lack of it). If the game is getting boring for me I quit for a few weeks, come back, pick up a new profession, master it, and then have my fun with it. I am not looking for a "I win" profession or trying to find the endgame. Right now I find PVE fun. So I grinded swordsman in a week and am now having a blast killing things out in the wild.

You don't have to play 3 hours a day, be a musician and hang out in cantinas, occasionaly going out and walking the world to kill things to have fun either.

I like to roleplay as much as I can but find it nearly impossible in online games such as these. There is too many Ub3r dud3s out there. If I want hardcore roleplaying I will remember to attend my weekly D&D session.

Here's a little content tip whether you grind or not...when you are about mid level in your combat skills, head to Talus or Rori and check out someof the POIs there. As a master combat prof they are of little consequence, but depending on your level having 5 Aakuans on you is as exciting as 5 rancors when it is a challenge. I sort of miss not doing all the mid range dungeons and POIs when I wasnt a master. I have visited them all now and it is basically no challenge. Now the DWB, Corvette, and Geon caves are a challenge, but maybe too much for some and maybe not enough for others. I dont have an opinion on the original poster's thread but, if you lack content go do some of these easier planets, they are a lot of fun.

Well I'm mainly saying to have fun with the game.

If you find grinding fun, then by all means, do what's fun.

My message is mainly to those who complain saying that "grinding" is no fun and they should make everything easier to master, etc.
