Thread: SWGCraft.com support group?

Yes, SWGCraft was an incredibly useful tool. I was hoping Trokk would get paypal or some such set up in order to offset his expenses.

He's a great guy, I'm at a loss why he's leaving us in the dark on this. It was a lot of work, but even if he had decided just to chuck it all, I can't see him just cancelling his hosting account and not saying anything.

I'm going thru withdrawal here, I hope we hear directly from him soon, and that this is only a temporary problem.

If you guys are serious about setting up a similar website with the same content. I can provide 2 things that will help you greatly. 1.) A Fast webserver 2.) Unlimited bandwidth on OC-48 backbone. I am a network engineer for a large ISP in the northeast. I have php/mysql coding abilites. I just do not have the time to create a dynamic site like swgcraft, although I miss it dearly. If you other programmers are serious about creating something like this. Get ahold of me and we can work something out.

This was something I considered myself the first time swgcraft.com went offline. By the time I found a programmer capable enough to program the site, when I went to refer him to the site, it was down.

It's incredibly difficult to describe to a non-SWG player what you are looking for. It's an excellent resource and I would definitely want to contribute.

I'm a PHP/mySQL coder and I could help, but if Trokk just needs finances. I can help there too.

I'm grieved too. However, Trokk did make a contribution button available on his site in mid-October, and wasoverjoyed at the good response. He rewarded those who contributed with a mention on a "Supporters" page.

Therefore, I find it hard to believe it's a money issue.

I'm behind the effort to build a replacement if SWGCRAFT is truly lost, but I can't bring myself to believe it's so. I'm certainly waiting through this weekend before declaring swgcraft gone.

In case everyone didn't see it, Trokk has posted. He is working on getting the site back up.

I had been trying to maintain a Naboo : Tarquinas resource page for some time. But after SWG craft became prevalent, interest had died off. I have kept up tracking of most minerals, gases, flora, power and water for weeks, looking at patterns in depletions. If any of you are in need of a limited listing for Naboo : Tarquinas, I will update my site tonight with the current information.

I sent Trokk a RL e-mail asking him to check out this thread if he has not already. Sounds like he is in need of a hosting solution. Time now for us to come through on assistance, any offers out there still valid for hosting? Check out his thread (above) for the specifics.

I have emailed him with the specifics of what I have to offer, everything he's asking for plus some. If he takes me up on this offer we can have something setup very soon.

Good work h3rb! Your offer seems to be just what he needs. On behalf of all of us I thank you. (I hope the offer is acceptable to Trokk!)
