Make "Couplers" using the higher quality metals. Experiment on them adding 4 to effectiveness (or whatever the bottom one is) then 2 more to that same one. Then last points in durability. Look for Couplers that say "Hotwired" or "QuickCharge" then sell the ones with the highest % to max damage (17-20/Hotwired) or highest % to speed. I used to delete the lower ones or failures.

/shout Selling Power Up for all guns! Increase max damage or firing speed on any gun! Anyone can install, even when fighting! 75 cr.

In beta after they wiped Ahazi I made a weaponsmith for the finally 2 weeks. I made thousands doing this. I an in the tailoring tiers now and still made sure I had egineering also to keep my scout blaster powered up at all times. Shout while you make em and shout near banks and Starports. These power ups rock. Make people realize how for 75cr they can do a bunch more damage.

Good luck

Great thread!

I'm making money, not a whole lot, but enough to turn a profit. And I'm doing it 'in character'--not simply selling whatever I think will sell, but since I am striving to become a good gunsmith, I craft and sell (so far) only ranged weapons and powerups for them. For a long time, only carbines and rifles, for that matter.

As many others have said, it's just a matter of finding your market and making connections. I found good price-points and places where I could sell them, and I keep the bazaar stocked up, and I usually have a couple thousand in sales racked up each time I log in. And it's a lot more fun than grinding!

Well, I am an aspiring merchant/droid engineer, but right now I am a novice artisan (well, novice in title, but I am at Engineering IV and Surveying IV). I am making a ton of my income from resources. I can sell 1000 units of Omnipifi (a metal) for 2000-3000 every time. And all I have to do to get 1000 more units is turn on my macro. Its great. The only problem is I am not stockpiling resources for myself so that I can start making and experimenting with products that I will sell in my shop. Heh, we all pay a price right. LoL. But yea, as said in a previous post I believe, sell resources right now to make money. Easiest way.

All you have to do is supply the demand. Powercrafters love me. Am I at a high level? No.

Pulling in about 40k/day profit. In a couple of days it will be about 80k/day. Business is so good that I got my online friend into it. One day it will slow down, but by then it won't matter.

And I'm making plenty of friends while I'm doing it too. Awesome game.

Well I'm happy to report that I'm now starting to make money since being able to make Bone armour (I hit Eng IV over the weekend, but also decided I really _had_ to have Domestic I for the fiberpanels) but I have still not sold a single power up (I'd love to know how people are getting 75-150 credits each for them, are you guys selling on the Bazaar?)

Now all I have to do is recover from the shock of now needing 28.8k xp for Novice DE!!! :-)

I have just3 suggestions.

1. Only sell the very best stuff you make. CDEF Pistols 26-57, for example. Not everyone knows enough to look for the best, but enough do, which leads to...

2. Always include a description of the item, stressing the quality above.

3. Put your name on it. When you make a first-rate pistol, call it CDEF Pistol by GageCorp, for example. This does two things. First it stands out from every other pistol up there. Maybe people will wonder why you bothered and check out your pistol rather than someone else's. And second, discerning customers will come to recognize the name and the fact that you only put the very best quality stuff out there. They'll start to look for the name.

I've also used the description box to invite people to send me a tell for special orders, which happens rarely, but can be very profitable when it does.

Finally, I tried putting pro-rebel slogans on my stuff "Kills Imperials at a range of 65m," for example, when I sell in rebel cities like Moeena. Don't know if it helps, but it doesn't seem to hurt.

My keys to success as an artisan....

1) Quality, quality, quality. As an ARTISAN I'm getting repeat INTERPLANETARY customers. How? Quality. Nobody else has +30/+15 power ups. Nobody else is making 30-62 CDEF Derivatives. They're making 17-55 DL18 derivatives. Which weapon would you buy?

2) Brand Name. HigreCorp weapons are becoming a hot commodity. I had someone /tell me and ask if he could complete the set. His pistol was great, and he wanted a carbine and rifle to match. He paid me 1000 just for a CDEF derived 30-62 Rifle, Carbine, and a few power ups. And tossed an extra 1000 in just because of the fine quality and the fact that he would "be back" (repeat customer). In fact, I've had so many people ask me to let them know when I make better weapons that I'm seriously considering doing Weaponsmith instead of Droid Engineer. It feels **edit** good when you are standing there giving weapons to someone at a reduced price because he wants to put them up on the bazaar on another planet and spread your brand name because he's that confident in it. It's also funny as hell when he overhears another merchant ask "You wanna buy a pistol?" and /shouts "Come buy it from this guy here, he makes great weapons!".

Current balance sheet...10k a day, noharvester sales, no resource sales. Having a stockpile of resources that happen to disappear can double that.

I currently have 40k in the bank.

All of my profits are being made from Artisan stuff: Bone Armor, Clothing, Harvestors and some Master Artisan stuff.

The clothing I can't keep in stock. I charge, roughly 500 to 1k per clothing piece (ie: boots, jacket, backpack) and bone is generally 900 to 2k per piece.

Harvestors have moved at 1.5 to 2k each.

I'm doing well, this is net profit, allready dumping maintenance in harvestors.

Heh,
this isnt Star Wars, its Sims Business 101 at a SW costume party.

Has anyone stopped to think why we are playing a game where you are more concerned about the economy than getting your blaster out of your holster fast enough to say kill a couple of Storm Troopers? When was the economy an issue in any SW movie?

that said...i enjoy making stuff and selling it. I thrive on how hard it is to sell stuff. I sold a power up and made 100 credits. woot!

good ideas above:

1. only sell the good stuff. Dont flood the bizaare
2. don't give your stuff away (your taking business away)
3. name your stuff (people enjoy name brands and quality)

that said, i spent a few hours July 3 making fireworks to sell for the 4th...server went down before i could hit the bazaar. Probably wouldn't of sold anyway..i cant compete so i just enjoy when i play.

got to love this game (he says while playing planetside).

Unfortunately, the highest level architect in our area decided to sell Wind Power Generators and Harvestors at 1k a pop. It's really turned the market down for them... no one is willing to pay more than that... unless they haven't heard about this persons shop.

I have found thatI can make a little money by selling aluminum (now in short supply) to the aforementioned architect. I expect that unless we have another buggy daily resource shift, the price will start going up as aluminum reserves go down.

I've made around 30k (15k over the weekend without even logging in) since I am able to make bone armor. I also did some market manipulation with this money, which brough me around 7k pure profit.

I invested all of this back.
