Yes powerups and artisan foods can be made better by humans but one thing that's forgotten is that of all the species, humans have the worst bonuses. All humans get is +15 experimentation. After that, they get no other bonuses other than +10 leadership which to my knowledge is worthless. Humans use to get the Jack of all trades title due to being allowed to have 1100 HAM bars anywhere they wanted with no High minimum values like zabraks got on mind bars. In CU, that 1100 bonus is gone now.

No clothing negatives.

No armor negatives

No modified faction costs

No negative to health

+15 Artisan Experimentation

+10 Leadership (not useful as of yet, but with the new SL system it will be useful I believe)

And unless it has been changed;

10% Bonus to ALL experience

The only race I can think of that gets any bonus over humans is a Wookiee with the +300 to health, but then they get left in the dirt on armor and other things, so it doesn't balance out.

Assembly is handy on the other toons, but if you change from crafting weapons at any point to say combat for a few months you are limited on armor for example. If you are imperial you are bent over on faction costs, etc.

Not saying there shouldn't be differences in the races, just the ones that are in the game now lean toward humans only. Unless you really want that 10% assembly bonus. Which as was states earlier, it makes very little difference when you include city bonuses with a good crafting tool at a good crafting station, while eating food and having force sensitive skills. A 1 in 1000 chance of an "amazing" assembly vs a great assembly is nowhere near the trade off to this Mon-Cal.

Some will seek out that little edge, but then some folks will pay 20% more for armor with 1% more resistances. Some people are just, well, strange.

Delete your mon cal and make a human.. its that easy.

Sure you cant get as good of foods/drinks or powerups but on other things like vehicle building it means nothing since it is only one line to experiment on.

All of you shut up. You could be Twi'lek and have no bonuses and only negatives. Wouldn't that be fun?

Yes, I am bitter.

I think this isn't an issue.I never bothered to get my +25 "suit" to craft with, and I did just fine. I sold lots of pups, vehicles and what have you. This is a market economy. Not everyone is willing to pay top dollar for the super-high end stuff when they can get the slightly less high end stuff cheaper.

We had similar arguments before regarding experimentation points and novice artisans, the argument being that novices can't copmpete with masters. I say they can, you just have to market your goods right, and price them accordingly. Sure, people like UberGamer, PVPGod and MasterPwner might not ever buy a PUP from you,but JoeGamer, CasualPlayer, SmilingBoband the "Like to Play" guild will. They also might not drop ten thousand credits per item like UberGamer and his buddies will, but their business will be steady if you have good prices and decent quality stuff.

Artisan is all about marketing your products to the right people. I know a Trandoshan artisan that can barely keep his vendors stocked. He doesn't even have a +25 experimentation suit. He's making good dough, and he's built a loyal following of steady customers over time. And word of mouth does wonders.

Know your competitors, check out the Vendor listings on the bazaar to compare quality / prices, andcharge accordingly. Market your good right, and the the business will follow. If you're really upset by the fact that a Trando or a Mon Cal will never have the *potential* that a human artisan has - note the use of the term *potential* - then give up your particular racial benefits, and become a human.

To mis-quote mikemonkey from the Jedi forums, "If you want to be the best artisan in your galaxy, then make a human template, and stop trying to eat soup with your knife!"

SWG is starting to become just like every other MMO I've played, starting with Asheron's Call. People really enjoy the game for the first year or two, then the people who want "everything now and the way I want it" start playing and slowly, but surely, the devs begin adding little "gimmes" to the game. Bit by bit, the ol' timers start leaving the game as it becomes "Monty Haul" and is not longer enjoyable.

If you want to see what happens to a GREAT game after the whiners and "gimmes" take over, click this link:

AC2 Says Goodbye

Although the original AC is still up and running, my old friends which are still there have said it's more mindless now than ever. Don't let this game become an AC, stop whining now!
