I was thinking that maybe Slices to weapons and Armor could be like powerups and only add like 200 charges to said weapon or piece of armor. I Figure we smugglers may gain and should gain alot of support from artisans since they are well aware of the importance of resal value. LOL

quote Crydawn:

I never knew droid paint jobs existed.. I thought it was something they made and it randomly changed colors

---------

exactly this hapened cause the paintjob went rediculouzs and nobody anymore wanted it LOL cause nobody likes to paint the droid every 20 calls.

i understand now when seeing many statements here from pure artisans why it is a basic profession, the guys are simply silly and no businessmen. you expect a win from painting all day cars? rofl

poor guys. pls hear to an advanced player here. we DEs grt paint job long time, and not even all know about it, cause it SUCKS. so see behind the lines and dont claim color need to fade blah blah we want more cash blah blah.

you will get no win at all if this stays like it is. the color option is so nice feature and adds fun to this in many ways bugged game, but to add decay on color? hello? this destroys exactly the fun it created in same minute.

and yes you have to compare a bit with real life and yes color might fade, BUT NOT that fast. so atm its exactl 20 call and its gone. thats crappy and fun destroyer. if tey would make it 2000 calls then maybe, and only maybe would be ok and worth a repaint. if you are traveling alot and play alot the 20 calls u get easy on one day.

afterhow many McDonalds drives u paint your car? 20? 200? hmm dont think so.#

paintjob should be a fun bringer and not a moneymaker, if it fades fast nobody will bother painting at all sooner or later. think about it. we DEs know that already

How about when a vehicle goes into a garage its paint fades away, otherwise it is permanent.

At least anyone can paint em, these kits are the ultimate slap in the face for droid engineers from the devs ... one rule for some another rule for others. Personally, I would raise the number of calls before it fades from 20 to 50 or maybe 100.

I agree that the rate of decay should be slowed down dramatically. The color is already fadidng off of my bike and I have ony used it 3 times. Plus I dont remember the devs saying anything about have to rebuy the mod kits every week or every because of how much you use your vehicle. Can you scream money sink rip off. Great job Devs you yet again took aa great idea and bombed it. Do you guys actually think things through at a players perspective at all or just say what the hell its not my probelm. My 2 creds

Decrease the decay rate, or get rid of paint decay alltogether. Did you see painting crews out in spacesuits working on that bright, white paint-job for the Star Destroyers every other day? No.

Besides, if you want to use paint decay, then have it decay down to the primer...not some crappy peach and brown...

The patch went live Wednesday morning. Friday morning I had people complaining that their paint jobs had already expired. We call our vehicles often enough that paint can easily expire in a few hours of gameplay. It's stupid. Paint needs to be permanent. Frankly, I think people will be more interested in changing their paint colors every now and then than having to repaint every couple of weeks when the paint expires. I'd already given up on my R2. I'd rather deal with it changing colors every time I call it than pay a DE for another paint job.

Paint decay rate is way too fast on vehicles and driods. If the paint never faded, people would still buy new paint tools as they change colors with their moods.

I'll sign this. * looks at the unsold crates of droid paint kits in his house

Doesn't make sence I can build droids and speeders but not paint that sticks to them.

For the record, my X34 has been in and out a lot past two days and I never got a fading message. I did repaint the frame thinking I might have missed a message, but the color was the same.

Side note: Why do brand new speeders look beat up? Look at the front of a landspeeder sometime.

WIth the autostore bug still in full force - paint fading is just plain annoying. The cost is negligable - thats not the point. Having to carry around a paint kit because my vehicle autostores 5 times a night - in addition to normal storing - IS the point. It is a pain and as such people won't bother. Once my kit wear out I will not be using one again. (BTW I make my own - and its still a pain).

I also find it amusing that a spray can requires more assembly and co-operation between professions than to actually craft a complete working vehicle (which apparently I managed to paint without help the first time).

I agree, once painted it should stay painted. Unless the condition drops almost to zero.

I think it a way for the crafters who craft them to make money.

Agreed, the actual item can decay. I think we're all fine with this. But the paint, too? That's just wrong.

I thought this was supposed to be 'fun'.

Two forms of decay on one item just isn't fun.

Period.
