If your inventory is full you might not be getting the resources. If it isn't full...a bug maybe?

I'm currently 4/4/43 as well. I found a nice 98% area. First NINE tries... zilch. I failed to find in a 98% area! What in the world. When I finally got some resources it was only 3 and then another 7 failed to finds. It bugs the heck out of me.

Ya wanna know something else thats kinda funny? Sampleing radioactive matirials is bad. It gives you a warning, but I had to see what would happen. It was quite humorous. I only sampled one little peice, and I was imidiadtly knocked incap, no going around go, and no saving throw. And to top it off, my bars were almost completly black with wounds.

Heres a little hint. If you wanna try it out, have a medic there with you. Come to think of it, this would be a great way for a medic to get loads of xp! Sample, let them heal you, then sample again!

What a great idea! I'm a genious! Well, ok, maybe not a genius. I cant even spell.

id guess the problem with the 92% spot and only 1 out of 3 sample attempts succesful is: u have choosen the wrong material maybe ... its like this that some material isnt sampleable when at 50% and others will get ya a sample even at 30% ... im not sure which resources have to have high % but i know that finding a spot for 90% fiberplast isnt too hard and it works for fiberplast nearly every sample (when i was on surveying 3 to 4 i did like this and had around 1 out of 15 (maybe 20) samples where nothing came out.)

cheers richie

surveying is one of the last bits of idiocy left over from the koster era...he actually thought it was fun to stand in one spot and dig in the ground...

just macro thru it overnight on a 80%+ concentartion and get it over with...after you get survey 4 you will never think about it again

the super idiotic "events" just need to be removed...i mean who in the world thought that getting 7 units of a mineral was a big deal..

there is no reason for anyone to sample by hand....if you arent using at the very least a personal harvetsor you have to be brain dead.

teh only use for hand sampling is finding the stats on resources...

Well, I suppose that's why it called sampling and not mining, huh?

I feel your pain. Oh, wait, thats my pain. Oops.

You know what really sucks? Ok, picture this. You're out surveying for ore. following the concentration towards the source. Its at about 34% concentration. You need this ore so you can continue the grind towards the specialized proffesions. Both your mind and action are way low. Your not really paying too much attention to the surrounding world because you gotta get these resourses. Then out of nowhere you get incaped! Then the Tusken Raider that you hadent noticed walkes over and db's you. Bad enough? Nope. Your clone is stored in anchorhead, but the closest cloning facility is in mos espa. Gee, your not carrying enough credits for a shuttle because you ploped all your creds into the harvester. So you clone to mos espa. Wounds. Ugh. Guess what. You're in mos espa now, but your still over 5k m from your survey site. Lovely.

Its not really allTHAT bad, but when your working for xp, delays like that really suck.

Oh, by the way, if you didnt already figure it out, that scenario happened to me.

If you don't think artisan is worthwhile, why are you reading the posts? Just to bash Artisans?

I think they've tweaked the probability of a successful /sample. As a n00b on TestCenter, it was fairly common to get 7-10 failures in a row, often eating all my action without getting one sample. For some reason, the first sample has a higher probability of getting a sample, so it looks like they want us to use macros and use the /sample, /stand, /sit method.

Or more likely, they want us to use harvesters more instead of sampling by hand.
