Thread: General Crafting xp
In addition to having the prerequisite skills (Eng IV, for example, for Weaponsmith, Amorsmith, Droid Engineer and Architect) you are required to have a certain level of experience. General Crafting experience is the same experience you used to advance up the Eng. path. You can get it from building anything you can currently build (except Installations which give you Structure XP). You simply need more of it in addition to having Eng IV already to qualify for the professions I listed above. If I recall correctly the requirements are:
Armorsmith: 16,800
Weaponsmith: 21,000
Droid Engineer (I don't remember this one)
Architect: 33,000
Once you start advancing in these professions the new schematics you get will give you the appropriate XP (for example, the schematics you get for being an Armorsmith give you Armor Crafting XP).
Structures (ie. deeds for mineral/chemical harvesters) don't count towards general crafting xp. Pretty much anything you make with the General Crafting Tool counts towards general crafting xp. My sugestion is making General and Weapon Item Crafting tools. They give around 80 or 90 xp each I beleive. If you put your mind to it and have the materials you can get to droid engineer pretty quickly. I started working towards Architect two days ago and am already half way there just by making those and also simple shirts.
Irecommend you go out and build some tents, 4 hide, 2 bone, you should get that easy, walk around and shoot stuff, you'll up your combat skills and get your resources, plus alot of people will just give your small amounts of bone/hide for free, its 25 craft xp each, use practice mode for an extra 2-3 points?
also, if you can, get a harvestor or so (be sure you can maintain them with power and maintenance fee's!!!), and find a nice patch of high density metal, use that to build general survey devices, i think each one differs, i used the chemical one? anyways iirc you can use all 4 slots with metal, because u need metal/minerals, the best thing to do, is actually stand on a high concentration with a camp for regen bonus, then sample the resource, you will slowly get some units of the resource, the camp helps u regen faster, and when your out of resources empty your harvestors, go back to your camp, then sample some more.
I know its a big process but worked for me, as i logged in at night, and the harvestor had about 2k units (just 1 small harvestor) i then sampled while i crafted to get more, by time i finished my stack, i emptied a few hundred more, and continued crafting
Is anyone else having this problem?
Until they change over the XP to general crafting, I would say you need to craft something that's not a harvester.
