of course, if you want to talk about expensive vehicles, how much does a jetpack go for?

Nope... they are toast when disabled. Just delete, cry, and move on.

Uhm... don't delete it. We're putting in a way to restore disabled vehicles.

At first, this is going to be for the "special case" vehicles only: the
flash speeder, the BARC, the AV21 and the jetpack. Garages will just
allow you to repair those vehicles even if they are disabled.

So we're thinking that the BARC speeder refurb kit should be repurposed
to be a "Vehicle Restoration Kit", which could be used (and would be
required) to restore any disabled vehicle. Obviously, people
wouldn't want to use them for vehicles that are cheap enough to
replace, but then you'd be selling the refurb kits to anyone with a
BARC, flash speeder, AV21 or Jetpack.

What do you think?

As an owner of an AV21 and a jetpack, I fully support the proposed change. It would allow me to use them a bit more often without fear of permanent deletion if disabled by a random aggro spawn. However, be advised a BARC can already be repaired at a vehicle garage

First, great idea! But your mention of the Flash Speeder is interesting, as currently it can be re-generated for 20k.

Will this always be the case, or shall the Refurb kit be the only way to replace a Flash Speeder?

And while we're at it, when will we be able to re-deed vehicles? Given there's more and more different types of vehicles becoming available, it would be nice to have options that don't revolve around Radial Menu->Destroy.

JFreeman,

Glad to see this, I know we spoke of doing this at the Fan Fest. I'm very happy to see the idea got some traction back at the office.

I know I would be very happy with a vehicle restoration tool, for AV-21's, jetpacks, BARCs, Flash, etc.

I don't see the harm in letting it fix the others either, to be honest. It is far more expensive to make the tool than to make a replacement, so it won't cut into sales. However, if the only ride you have is a busted X34, it'd be nice to get it running again with a restoration tool, even if it wasn't cost effective.

Take care,
Guru

I've got mixed feelings about this.

Pros:
My combat toon's AV-21 was just disabled a few days ago by a BH mark (haven't deleted it yet). so i'd love to have that thing back.

Fixing the BARC repair tool is a GREAT thing.

Making the repair tools work on all vehciles will give us Artisans another thing to sell that people would want to buy

This would also increase space mining.

Cons:
Artisans will sell a considerably less amount of vehicle deeds, similar to what happend with ADKs and weaponsmiths.

This sounds like a great idea!

One hurdle would be devising acceptable resoruces to be used for such "repair" kits. If they are to be a generic kit which would be used on any of the vehilces there could be a problem.

A good approach may be tocreate a series of kits to allow for diversity such as: "kit A", "Kit B", "Kit C"; Kit A repairs flash and BARC speeders, Kit B repairs AV-21s and the previous types, Kit C repairs Jet Packs and all previously mentioned vehilces.

This method of a tiered repair kit could also establish alternate means of imerssion within the minning mini-game. (btw, this was a genius addition to the game and who ever was the brain child behind deserves high honors!) Minning is a fun alternate to the standard graul on the ground. Placing a requirement of "rare" resources to make the best repair kit would also suffice to rounding out most pilots and crafters content.

As for resources to be used, I would prefer that the crafting process have sever steps involved and increase beyond each "type of kit". A kit to be used in repairing Jet packs and any subsequent vehilces should require not just a high amount of resources but should include a form of "refinning" to double as an addition of content in the crafting fields. Placing a requirement of refining also places the best repair kits in the category associated with the elite status of a said vehilce.

Keep up the good work JFreeman. It's also good to see your brainstorming ideas.

You can already generatean unlimited number offlash speederdeeds for 20k each so unless you are taking away that option it isn't really a priority for the flash speeder. It does sound like it would make AV21 and Jetpack owners happy.
