Thread: Vehicle Pricing ?

I hate to keep popping in here, but this thread is a gret distraction from the lab report I'm supposed to submit today...

The point is that until initial demand is satisfied, we won't set the pricing, the buyers will. I can see vehicles selling for a good amount, but I'm not sure we'll see the peaks and duration that the mount craze got to. THe reason is that the resources required to craft these are nearly infinate, with the limiting factor being the number of master artisans. With mounts, even MCH's had a limit to the number of mount-ready pets in their datapads, and once those were gone buyers had to wait for the newly trained babies to grow.

Enjoy those first couple of days, and make as much money as you can during them. IMHO, after things settle down there will be a lull in demand forvehicles and then they'll pick back up to a reasonable source of income and a draw to our vendors for our other wares.

I can see how some people are already angry knowing about the price gouging that will be going on for the first few days over vehicles, it only empasizes the divide bewteen the "haves" and the "have nots". However, that's capitalism for ya, the very same thing that goes on right about now- Xmas shopping season! The high demand toys and gadgets are a ripoff, but you see mom's bludgening each other in the stores and drawing blood just to HAVE that toy for their kids. Those who can't afford their toy of choice are going to have to wait until the day after Xmas when the stores slash their prices down to 50% to get rid of anything left.

While selling vehicles at slightly over material cost may be a noble thing to do, I have to say its an awefully stupid thing to do for the first few days.

I expect to get 75k - 200k per vehicle on the first day. I will be selling em all by hand (or using salesmen). This is solely based on demand.

After that I will charge 4cpu + 10% or maybe 5cpu + 10%. Don't forget the 10% for criticals or factory costs and don't fool yourselves... someone will undercut you because these things aren't a challenge to make. x34 - 19k, swoop - 35k, speederbike - 26k

Also I just checked (heh made me logon TC to be sure) and you have the cost for your swoop and speeder bikes backwards. Swoop is 8k metal, speeder is 6k.

Right... I could start a new character on bloodfin and probably grind to MA and undercut them. I hope they like competition.

I was extremely lucky to sell mounts for 200k and 300k on the first day. I don't expect demand to be that high because these things take zero time to make. 3 minutes via factory or 30 seconds by hand.

I've seen a formula once for how much time a factory needs to crank out one unit of a combine - it seems to depend on the complexity of the combine or something like that.

Would anyone here know what that formula is?

Thanks. I'm trying to figure out how many of each vehicle to make, come patch day, and how long it would take for each run - don't want to load the factories too high up, and have to wait for ever to get the vehicles out. (But I suppose I can always open the output hopper and pull out crates as soon as they start appearing too).

The scary thing is that they just might, they just need to find the desperate buyers. If they know where to find them, they will get it.

my goodness, i feel like the only communist(not really)on here when i was considering what my prices were going to be compared to your guys.

I was going about 3cpu on my stuff with about 10-15%markup, still thinking about it too. I dont give a rats butt what the person does with it. But im limiting my sales of 3 (one of each kind)speeders per customer. They can sell them to some idiot who HAS to have it that day because they counldn'tget their rocks off in theTC.

Anyways, thats my 2 credits.

You all are crazy for having such low prices. As i see it bikes in general will take about 12k in resources and the landspeeder will take close to 15k. So basic price structuring at 3cpu is 36k for the bikes and and 45k for the land speeders. Now everyone knows that they can sell their raw materials for at least 3cpu. Now this is just covering costs in my opinion. Add into that about 10% failure rate and a about 10% profit were at about 42k for the bikes and 55k for the landspeeders. Now if you have excellent materials (ie high SR) that increases the durability of the vehicles you need to factor that in also. For arguement sakes well say another 20% (ie 3pu to 5cpu) and were at 50k for the bikes and 66k for the landspeeder.

So these prices should beat least 50k for the bikes and 66k for the landspeeders.

Selling vehicles for less than these prices is foolish. Your better off just selling the materials at 3-5cpu and be done with it.

Personally I am going to sell bikes for 75k and landspeeders for 90k until all my stock of duralloy steel and polysteel copper are out. Only when using mediocre materials will my prices go lower.

I like to be foolish when im usings my free time anyways, considering were all playing a game here. Look how much the creature costs have just plummeted since last month. Economy will balance itself out with speeders
