We had a little hiccup this morning when the upstream feed from swgcraft went down. I'll take steps to try to prevent this from happening again.

Meanwhile, it looks like user registration and adding deposits are working great...

tehedin, if you have surveyors that you have worked with in the past, direct them to the site, or this thread...

Great site! Looks like it will be a useful tool!

1. ICQ or MSN page when resources shift.. I have enough problems with spam now anyway, I would lose any usefull updates in the clutter.

2. A way to track surveyors for reliability. If someone drops a bad resource spot, and I am out 50KCred, I would like to sic arancor after them, and give negative feedback

3. Resource spawn date on the current resources page, or the reported spawn date.

4. Metrics for the locations. Terrain type, What harvester sizes would be utilize the spot, How many harvesters should fit...

5. A way to control how many times the resource location is sold. If all paying users have accesslocations, you would expect to see huge farms of harvesters. Being able to pay for exclusive info for a location would be appealing.

6.(5a) Maybe atoken type mechanism? Registered owner getXimaginary SWG credits weekly to try and buy deposit sites?

I love the site though! Good luck!

Thanks for the comments!

Jnath, I responded to your password problem via email.. check there...

gravitron... Great ideas... I'll get them implemented as soon as I can.

Today I spent a lot of time upgrading and getting resource notifications working. It's a pretty sweet little system that lets you get emailed when any of the resources you are looking for become avaiable. Woot! Yeah, spam sucks... Make an ISS filter or something to seperate them out. =)

tac,

Im still having problems with the registration confirmation. I tried using the link on the registration email and going in thru the main page's login. Once i enter name and password it tells me that i must be logged on to use this tool, or something like that.

Looks good, i especially like to topo-map banner up at the top.

One thing of note, on main page there doesn't seem to be any link to my personal page (the one i see after login). Once i leave the personal page, where i can list resources etc, its hard to find your way back.

I'm interested in the concept, but your page is *broke* in opera 7.22. links overlapping with content text, list of surveyors pushed off to the right with no scroll bar available (on 1024x768), etc.

2 questions for ya... I probably wont be a regular customer, but do have times where I temporarily drop survey and might find something like this useful on the spot.

1) What are you doing to manage the integrity of the waypoints that get entered? I'm not talking outright fraud, but moreso issues with waypoints being inside player cities, or on terrain that can't be placed over, or just plain areas that are too filled with already placed harvesters?

2) Are the people involved in running the site doing anything to fill the db as well as those people selling points? I just was looking around and saw there were only 5 deposits listed for the entire site. Now I know that you expect to normally have more then that, but are you working to keep things "filled" while the userbase starts to come together?

And just a quick design note... it would be really nice to be able to planet hop - or even server hop - from the page that lists the resources on a given planet instead of having to go back and then hit the form again. It also might be nice to filter out and only list resources with waypoints entered for the planet. Tatooine/Bria looks really busy right now but you have to scroll through the 5 or 6 screens worth before realizing there isn't anything really there.

The best part about this site is the hit lists.

My next question would be: As a full service mining company, i should be able to break even then, wont i? Offering the survey results against purchasing the info. And correct me if im wrong here. Since harvesting will take time, i should be able to survey more and actually pull in some creds (given time and commitment), yes?

Hey Jnath

No apology neccesary.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question, but yes, you should be able to pull profits easily by posting locations... since there is no cost to surveying (other than vechicle maintenance, and time) all purchases are near 100% profit. Also, for great spots, multiple customers will pay for the same location.

Since you already submit data to swgcraft, it is another (small) step to start generating income from work you are already doing. Granted, you don't need to scour the planets for swgcraft listings, you can mostly do it all from the starport.

Please keep me posted on any bugs or problems you find with the site, as it is still in development. We hope to have an official launch later this month.

If you are a surveyor: you can make your resource locations available to the entire server for purchase with just a few clicks. If you publish resource data to swgcraft, don't stop there... Add in your resource locations to iss, and get paid for your work. You can set your own prices, handle payments, and view the entire server's current resource listings with deposits. Start by creating a user account, and you will be given links to add locations when viewing a resource.

If you are a mining company: You can track resources, and view the concentrations server wide in a single place. Find a location you want to mine and buy the coordinates from the surveyor. Features that will be added soon are email alarms for resources you are looking for, or harvesting, and a more complete profession based resource hit list.

The site is up for testing and development now. Itwill be in full production once the interface is revised, and all the new features are added (hopefully later this month).

If you would like to see any features that are not there, please respond to this post with your suggestions. The goal is to make an open easy to use place for people to find survey and resource data.
