Thread: Vendor

Good question.

I would guess that the Building Management Terminal does not have an option for creating vendors in the City Hall. And it would have to be the Mayor attempting to place the vendor. Since there is no way to give Admin rights to other players.

Try this...

As Mayor, go to a building (not City Hall) where you have admin rights and create your vendor.

With the vendor in your backpack, go into City Hall, and try and place that vendor.

Let us know if it works.

Actually, you can use the command /createvendor while standing in City Hall to create a vendor. The command is independent of the structure (it's not a building-affecting command) so it works.

I"ve tried it and it definitely works to create vendors there, but only the Mayor can, as you said.

Yep yep, I have an information vendor in our city hall. He stands next to the vote terminal and spams a welcome message. Fun stuff

Now if I only had some skill points to spare for Merchant skills. *grumble*

How about adding the ability to place a vendor or two to our ever-so-hurting skill tree?

Add that one to the wish list? What I'd really like is some NPC "actor" type placeables, but lord knows when we'll see anything like that. Complete with configurable conversation trees! Yeah, I know, I know... "Keep dreaming".

Read the FAQ in the merchant profession forums.

Awww give him a break, only registered a few days ago and I bet it took you as long to type that as it would have done to answer the Q. He'll soon find his way around, there are after all a ton of forums and Business & Economy isn't too wide of the mark.

And surely you mean Artisan forum.

no, he meant the merchant forum, there's a guide stickied that covers everything starting from novice artisan to master merchant.

Isander is merely pointing out where you can get further information about vendors, so I don't see what the problem is or why he isn't giving the poster "a break".

On the structure management terminal of a house he has admin on should be the option to 'Create Vendor'

Best to set people straight off, so in the future when they have questions, they can check the easy-reference, instead of us having to answer the same questions over and over. One or two new people asking the same question is tolerable. When you answer the same question every day from several people, I doubt you'll feel as forgiving.
