Thread: Vendor
How much business skill do I need to place a vendor?
I only need one really and was jsut wondering how high up the business tree I need to go befor I can use one. If I read right it's business 3, but that says vendor +1 so maybe everybody can use 1 to start with, I dunno.
Thanks for the answer in advance
They need a huge warning to all new merchants that reads:
Make sure to remove any/all merchandise from vendors before removing the existing one. It may look like the merchandise stays in stock, but actually at this time, it becomes locked in a stock limbo if left in an old vendor. While the stock gets listed to you, it's not visible to customers, and you will find that you can't remove it either.
I don't know exactly what you're asking, so I'll cover the entire process. Forgive me if you know any of this already...
You need a minimum of the Artisan skill Business III. With that, you gain the Vendor skill.
Now, in your house, go to the Structure Management terminal and you'll find a new option "Place Vendor."
Select this, follow the steps listed and you'll find a Vendor in your inventory. Drop it and place it like you would a piece of furniture. Now from its radial menu select "Initialise Vendor." The Vendor will now become "Live." If this doesn't work, try it a few times until it does.
Once the Vendor is "live", you can double-click or select "use" to use it. It won't have any stock yet, so select the Sell Item option and choose the item you wish to place for sale. Repeat until your vendor is stocked.
One other thing: you have to pay Vendor Maintenance (kind of like a wage). Select Vendor Control, then Pay Maintenance to increase the Maintenance fund.
Hope this helps!

I found the Bazaar style vendors have the "Vendor cannot be initialized" bug the last time I tried, so use the bulky version if that won't work after this latest publish
