I think it is a myth that artisans can't sell their stuff. The issue is that artisans can't always sell the stuff THEY want to make. If you check the bazaar--look for what's in short supply. If there are 200 CDEF pistols, guess what, you're probably not going to be able to sell one. But there is plenty of stuff you can make that will sell. Other than one delivery mission that I did on my first day, I have done no other missions. I'm not rich, but I have 70k+ credits, 2 harvesters, a house, and a factory. I don't "grind" to level, and I'm up to novice armorsmith and am a master artisan.

Work Work Work get out there and make customers as a master artisan my main icome comes from running 8 harvs i found hitting 1 mill credeasy.Go out and search for customers do not sit back and wait for them i goto all diff weap/armor/arc crafters and try and sell my resource service to them.My 2nd income comes from making weap power ups with this i am doing very well to.Goto diff planets seek out weap crafters give power up samples to them to put on there guns i make +32 PU's and when added to guns the crafters see how much faster there weaps sell and buy bulk orders. Also ive given out about 300-400 free PU's to people just to get them to see the + side of useing them and have had big time return customers.

p.s. with the new big patch it says PU's will be able to be factory made and useful*crosses fingers*

As stated powerups sell.

That said YOURS probably won't.

Examine your powerups. See what they do.

Good powerups give a bonus to two stats 30% to one, 15% to the other.

If you're just starting out yours probably give a .6% bonus to one stat. No one cares about increasing a stat by .6%.

Sell resources. That is the route to cash.

For making money as an Artisan, I either do a dozen or so delivery missions, or sell bone armor.

Bone armor may not be the best, but people will still buy it, if it's priced right. That, and making bone armor gives you the most XP for doing general crafting.

I agree with what was said before...get Novice Marksman, and start climing one of the weapon tree "limbs".

In addition, the main thing that turned my game around, was taking Novice Scout, and being able to harvest my own creature resources (once you kill them, of course). This has made the biggest difference to me.

The other thing to try, is to go to areas where you are the only Artisan. Difficult to do? Yes. But not impossible. On Corellia, go to Doaba Guerfel or Kor Vella. On Tatooine go to Mos Taike or Wayfar.

Or, if you're really into punishing yourself, go to Lok like I did. For the 1.5 months that I spent on Lok, I was the only artisan there. There was nobody to compete with for prices on Bone Armor or power-ups. The only 2 drawbacks are-

1) you get killed a lot.

2) you may have to leave to find someone to train you for that next skill level. (the only NPC trainers on Lok are Medics)

Anyway, that's what worked for me.

I think this is totally on-target. I made my way up the artisan tree selling 95% of what I made just by watching the markets and seeing what was needed. I did delivery missions to supplement income, but only when I was traveling from one city to another. If you take 2 delivery missions to your destination, you easily pay the shuttle ticket and can clear about 1K each way. Also, take note of what sells and who buys it. I have a few people who continually come to me for powerups because I noticed their name and emailed them. I make good money off powerups although they are kind of a pain to craft, but I sell tons to my repeat customers.
