Thread: IT'S OFFICIAL! ARTISAN BUILDS BASE VEHICLES!!!
They need the new vehicle class to level up.
To do it they could add aftermarket upgrades for speed /durability/ control/ braking, differnt vehicles (like pod racers--not really good for exploration use but good for racing---which you know will start with this release), color customization, experimentation to make them faster/more durable
I wasnt to get a speeder thats Blue with Chrome fittings that is one of the fastest in the galaxy
i'm not sure I really like this, I dont mean artisans get vehicles, that i'm super happy about. But they are alowing any armor/weapon/droidengineer/architect to make them and that I really dislike!
They should have either put all of them in master artisan or 2 in master and 1 and engineering IV.
thats just my 2 cents, though I may give up artisan because no one really masters it, they just get one tree, I think that this should be more of a board for people who are going to master artisan not, I need this to get to weapon smith.
again just my 2 cents.
Master Artisan/Novice Gunfighter/novice CH
I have a dream, a hope really, that these are just the "starter vehicles" much like bone armor, travel packs and personal extractors.
With the Space expansion, I see a new profession, the Vehicle Engineer, who makes not only ground based transportation, but also builds starships.
I see this new profession needing sub-components from other professions, thereby further enforcing profession interdependancy, and with this new interdependancy a need for those Master Artisan sub-components that.....
Man, this is sounding cheesy. Think I'll quit while I'm behind.

Here's a news flash for you...
Most Master DE's are Master Artisans as well. However, I agree that if they aren't going to put vehicles in an elite profession (which we already know is true), then they should at least put them in Master Artisan.
Speederbike: 250 non-ferrous metal and 1000 ferrous metal so 1250 units. I charge 4x all units and that comes at 5k, if you see more than this, I would shop around. If your impatient, but and spend, if you have the money, buy and spend. If you want to spend 50K, oh please give me the money. Non-ferrous and ferrous metal is not going to be hard to find.

Hopefully, this keeps vehicle prices down to a reasonable rate.
Pffft. Who am I kidding?
I mean the vehicles themselves are not hard to make resource wise, but would be a prime product for the master artisan.
Oh well, at least I will not have to wait several days like I did for my mounts to grow up, I will have a speeder within about 60seconds of this going live.
Heck at that complexity I will not even care about them exploding, I will just craft more in the field.
Hopefully, this keeps vehicle prices down to a reasonable rate.

Would be useful to know if it's just going to be part of engineering or if it's really going to be another profession like 'Weaponsmith'.
I'd bet you'll get 1 vehicle at Eng IV or something and then they'll be a Vehicle Manufacturer (or whatever) as an extra profession.
Either way - it's going to be an excellent niche market once it happens so will be well worth getting into immediately.
I had the easiest time getting through all of the Artisan skills and dumped the ones I didn't need.I don't think moving vehicle schematics to Master Artisan will make it that more scarce, hence, allwoing people to jack the price. There are a lot of people who are "dabbling" in Artisan might free up their points to get to master to make vehicles.

Well I bet that once vehicles are released, nobody will be buying chicken mounts for anything close to 100K when they can get a speeder for 5K. The days of CH's charging crazy prices for mounts will soon be over.
Lets be honest here. The reason that a CH could sell their mounts for 100-300k is the time involved in raising a pet. We artisans will be able to crank these things out in mass amounts.
Would you rather make 100k profit after 3-4 days of letting a pet sit around in your data pad, or say 5k profit every time you churn out a new vehicle (which you can do in a few seconds). I am even thinking about selling them for 3k on the bazaar.
