I lack the programming knowledge that is apparently so abundant on this thread, so I can't respond as far as the answers validity goes. It really doesn't matter to me either way about the survey range, and the economy is a diff matter altogether. It's a player driven economy so lucasarts isn't to blame for the rampant greed and such, hopefully the jedi revamp will fix some of the issues of the economy's craziness. There was a comment made about the artisan class being"apathetic" I would like this person to point out how, and what wonderous acts of divinity us artisan's should be capable of to be more than what we are, after all the only thing we're capable of now is crafting... ah yes I was mistaken in thinking that the word "artisan" meant crafting.

Maybe just maybe reworking the way survey tools are made to give people a range increase as a reward for making really really good survey scanners.
Probably not a genius idea but either way, boosting range for MASTER ARTISAN's only IS a GENIUS idea.
I mean most professions usually get some bonus at the master level right? Artisan gets NONE. So maybe for master artisan you would get a survey range increase and an even higher survey if its not maxed already.
This way dabblers dont get to do the best surveying, but master artisans do.
Thats what I would do. And Ill put it into the question for next week thread, or maybe use this as the rebuttal.
