Thread: Vehicle Wishlist!

I'd like to see the base schematics stay fairly simple and definitely keep the resources common. We already have far too many schematics in game that are overly difficult to maintain a decent supply of resources for to keep the customers happy. (When was the last time your server had Ostrine ore? 2-3 months here)


Optional components would be good, but I'd like all or most to come from the Artisan skill tree--unless a builder class were to beadded as an elite profession to make land and space vehicles. Not a fan of the new class idea though--I think the existing crafters should get these new items as they have worked hard making all our stuff for all this time.


Paint--we need color. That dull look may have worked for Luke on the bleak landscape of Tatooine, but it'd stand out terribly on many other planets. Camo design would be fun.


The ability to survey from inside a vehicle would make sense. It's silly that I can fire a laser rifle from a mount, but I can't click a button on my survey tools from it.


/autopilot. We should be able to tell our speeder to drive us home--or is that asking a bit much?

There are two existing choices for storage in vehicles: droid storage modules, and structural storage modules. I think the DE component makes more sense in this case.

Here's a few thinks I wish for:


Some where in the domestic arts lines you can make the option "part" for vehicles to color it. The part would be some sort of dye kit or what not.


I wish all the parts needed to make a working vehicle would stay in theartisan skill tree, While most parts to enhance the vehical would come from other professions.


/boost like other people wanted a very short burst of speed for the vehicale


Let vehicles have a acceleration and braking time, 0-60 in 0.1 seconds doesn't seem right. Each vehicle could have different specs as for acceleration and braking. This would give the vehicles a vehicle feel and less of just umm what it is now =P


Different speeds, Not different speeds on each vehicle but maybe I just want to cruise down the beach at a slower speed to enjoy the umm sights hehe. Holding shift doesn't work. Let there be 4 speed settings. Maybe a new way of controling them. Pressing up once makes you go slow then press it again to go faster and back to go slower, Oh well just seems like fast walking to me right now.


Mounted weapons?! The speeder bikes had them in whatever movie it was. Not your own personal weapon but a optional weapon mounted on the front, maybe weapon smiths could make the weapons

IMHO vehicles shold be +3-4dbi louder than they are. I finally got to hear them with headphones on and the ambient noise in the city and my own footsteps are louder.

Ahh after 3 hours of that my ears did ring a bit, maybe +1dbi *about 50% louder) just to give it more of a distinction. There are more general sound issues in the environment, speeder sound should carry better and needs to have special attributes where the closer it is the wider it's stereo separation.

F.Y.I The SHIFT key did make them go into "low gear" as it were. I think it still works that way, TC is kinda messed

Optional parts for vehicle schematics!

Repulsorlift control assembly: 2-4 similar control units
2 for the bikes, as they have 2 balance points.
4 for the landspeeder, cause it's kinda huge, and looks like it needs 4.

(This would affect the durability of the vehicle, as the repulsorlift system helps it to avoid small obstacles)


Power Regulator Sub-Assembly: 2-4 similar energy distributors
one for each control unit

(This would affect the maximum speed of the vehicle, as it regulates power in all systems)




But the other thing I would like to see is this...

VEHICLE POWERUPS

They can be applied to a vehicle in the datapad(much like how you drop em onto weapons). They would give either a reduction in vehicle decay, or increased vehicle speed. Of course, other options should be available... such as Shields(Powerup negates x% of damage while you are in the vehicle) ...Resource Scanning modules(the vehicle will become a survey tool while you are inside) and the list goes on.

Here's some ideas I had for vehicles. First I like keeping them in Artisan, so that everyone will be able to have access to them. I like the idea of adding in control units, micro senor suites fiberplast panels and other Master Artisan items. But let's talk about customizing your ride. Right now a Master Artisan should be able to create a base model vehicle, but here's some ideas for what elite crafters can add. All these should be optional items


Architect - Build parking garages andhouses with garages.


Armorsmith - Able to make armor segments. This could increase your vehicles hit points or resistances based on the segements provided.


Chef - Able to make Nitro. As a master of mixing, they should be able to come up with a nice fluid to boost speed for a short time.


Droid Engineer - Storage modules. Ever hear of a glove box or trunk? Plus DE's can color your droid, why not allow them to paint vehicles. Maybe even allow an autopilot module to take you to a waypoint.


Merchant - Renaming vehicles. Think of this like changing the name on the title of the vehicle. It would be nice to name your ride.


Tailor - Synthetic Cloth and Reinforced Panels. Using these instead of fiberplast panel for your seat covers should allow a larger range of colors, and maybe a different lookto the seats.


Weaponsmith - When and If vehicle combat is allowed we'll need weapon upgrades to the vehicles. The stock weapon could be equivelent to a CDEF.
