Thread: Harvester animation

The only harvester animations I can see are my own harvesters.

While it is rather funny the only "running" harvs are in the NPC outposts, another strange this with Harvs is when there is a resource shift, I open up the control panel and the animation says it is still on, I have to click the "off" button in order to redeed it. Anyone else get this issue?

I for one find it reassuring that the DEVs aren't running after every little bug in the game.

Especially something like this that's so easy for me to work around. I'd rather have them working on something

I just like to tell myself that the earlier patch replaced the archaic kinetic mining units with revolutionary and highly efficent laser-guided, ion-charged, reverse-osmotic, gravigenesis mining units. So not only do the new harvesters no longer waste energy with the needless and inefficient up-and-down pumping motion, they improve extraction rates by an average of 2-3 BER.

eh, it was nice when it was fixed, but not too big of a loss. Be nice if they fixed the GCW or PSGs though....

This can't be THAT hard of a fix. Compared to "fixing the GCW" this is a bit somewhere to twiddle.

I hope they don't fix it. It is my favorite bug. It helps me knowing which harvesters I have restarted.

They talked about this bug at Fan Fest. Just a matter of the harvesters not sending a notification to the client as you get close to them. My impression is that it is just not a huge prioriity considering the work load they have, but the did promise to look at it.

I don't really care that much about it but it does "feel" wrong to see them all not moving. The amusing thing is that from a distance they animate. Its when you get closer to them that the client, not recieving the signal thay they are running, turns off the animation.

When you play the game 99.9% as a crafter, the animations help in the 'immersion' ie I forget that I'm playing a game. IF they had never animated I wouldn't think about it, but when they did, and stopped, MONTHS ago, I now do notice it, and it draws me back into the realm of "a person operating a PC."

This was killed sometime last year around November or December killed 2 to 3 months ago? When was the last time these animated lol. Its kind of dull I wish they would put it back so you can just run by the harvestor on your bike and see if its still mining stuff without having to stop and check it.
