hi there all
Ithink a well writen post is what we need here not a
smart arse one.
As a new RM myself i would be interested in a answer
to this important question by Dejin24 and other question
concerning new riflemen.
Is it true that hunting solo is now near imposable for
a novice RM

To be honest, I grinded pre-CU. I think the CU stinks. If I had to "grind" now, I would be even more angry.

1. Get a level 54 cert Rifle.
2. Group with 2 or 3 people.
3. Go to Dant and get hunting missions out of a player city (Too much junk around MO on our server anyway).
4. Wait tilltherest of the group has the creature 1/2 dead and then shoot at it till it dies; you will get full exp and be master in a few days.

You could grind solo, but you need to be careful about drawing, group aggro, and it's slower. When you can level thrice as fast in a group, and when groups are abundant in the right places (like MO).

- take missions of your level (try pc cities as npc cities can be level capped)
- use the highest level weapon you are cert'd for
- carefully fight 1 target at a time as you are level balanced vs 1 of equal con
- try novice medic for bacta shot and carry a ready supply of stims that your CL can use
- try in a group - it is much much faster.

Answering your questions in order:
- Dantooine
- Mostly Janta
- My T-21 dropping to go unarmed if I got in trouble (was TKM/Rifles)
But that was a long long time ago, in a galaxy that hadn't been revamped.
Best bet is to get the highest damage rifle you're certified to use, find a group that is going out hunting and ask to tag along. Let someone else lead the group around, let most everyone hit whatever the group's current target is first, then open fire yourself.
Use "Ranged Shot" on auto-attack and primarily auto-attack.
If/when you do accidently draw aggro off your group's tank or other players, use Improved Underhand Shot from your MBH skills to knock whatever it is down to give yourself some breathing space. If it is close to death, drop Advanced Critical Shot on it as well.
If you can get into a group with a Master Rifleman, you should be able to get a couple of the low end boxes in fairly short order. I trained another couple of low level riflemen earlier today in a handful of boxes, and we really weren't out hunting all that long.
