Thread: How do you grind?

I know about the macros, and about practice mode, but my question is...how do you do it without going insane from boredom? It's the most mind-numbing experience I can imagine in a game, and if you're an artisan, it's the majority of your job. Does anyone have tips for making it more pleasant? I'm tried talking to people, but the time I'm typing is time that I'm not hitting 'enter' to grind more, so it takes even longer. It's like soloing, except without the excitement. I really want to finish up engineering though, so I can become a Droid Engineer. Any advice would be appreciated.

Crikey if you're bored grinding Artisan, God help you when you take on an Elite Prof. I know what you mean though. I tend not to focus on the goal (Master) and just craft until I do get bored, sometimes thats very soon, sometimes I can go on for oooo at least 20 minutes. Then I'll go do something else, even if its only for 10 minutes break. But hey thats me I stopped trying to rush things in MMORPG's after the first one nearly burned me out. (Lots of people make it a race, but I find it just saps the fun out of things, even more so in this game with the Hologrind). I watched someone grind out 8 boxes in Artisan in 20 minutes, as they needed the training. If it wasn't for the survey line he'd have mastered Artisan in less than an hour I'm sure.

OMG! How did he grind out Artisan boxes that fast? If I could do that I'd be finished in no time.

Making the installation deeds you get at eng 3, the personal harvies. You do need enough of the resources available of course and the 8 boxes I saw him do were crafting these. Not sure how long it took him to do the three to eng 3, but from memory it didn't take me that long doing survey tools.

It took me less than an hour to grind up to engineer III with survey tools and then grind up the other 9 boxes using personal harvesters as schematics. Survey is a downer. Funny, though, I was an artisan on day 1, and then went to architect, and it took me a LOT longer to master Artisan back then, I can tell you - and survey was the first tree done. Of course, back then no one knew how to make a crafting macro, there was no practice mode, and no one had enough resources to grind a profession like this, but hey.

I hear that if you macro AFK while you sleep, it's tolerable.

I don't know what's more sad.

1. That you can macro any profession while you get on with real life

or

2. You look at the XP required and feel like you have to.

You must mean doctor crafting, as I made lvl 4 medic crafting on a night, without macros But TBH, I was sitting in Coronet using a heal macro to heal a tumble monkey at the same time

This is a game, you pay to play it. If you do something you don't find fun, don't do it, do something else instead.

If you don't enjoy grinding, don't do it. It would be as smart as paying to eat sh*t, so to say.

Dev's: Can we get the SEA mods that do not work replaced with mods that do? Also, while you're at it, make sure to update the loot table by deleting mods for SEA's that are no longer applicable. Thanks.
