Thread: Power Costs for Harvestors Doubled?!?!?! This is rediculous.....

Reclaim costs haven't changed. Still 1500/3000/4500.

Power useage seems also to be the same as pre-patch, REGARDLESS of what the damned bugged numbers say. Man, if I played on Test Center, I would either be hanging my head in shame, or burning SOE QA managers in effigy for pushing a patch with so many bugs that had been pointed out by the TC players

Hopper size, in the display under Operate Machinery/Hopper, are all screwed up. So are extraction rates. There are confirmed reports of Heavy Harvesters that show less than 2K hopper space. There are confirmed reports of Fusion Gens with extraction rates of 20 kg/hr and hopper capacities of 400K.

It's all over the place, sheesh. And no one knows whether it's just the display that's bugged, or if our harvesters are going to shut down when the new hoppers "fill up", or if ANY of the numbers on the harvester interface can even be believed.

Power costs are visually showing twice what they were but they are not effectively working that way. The devs obviously were trying to fix the fact that the credit consumption was showing for a 1/2 hour but they didn't notice that the power figure was correct. I have done the calculations and they not consuming twice the power. So we're ok there.

I have a personal chem harvester that is showing up with the extraction rate halved but I haven't tested to see if it is, in fact, pulling resource slower.

Another interesting bug I seem to be seeing is that the harvester isn't pulling maintenance credits, only power. So it seems the harvester will not eat the credits, only the power.

sciguyCo, it was much longer than 10 minutes. I did a check 8 hours after putting an even 24 hours worth of credits and power into my harvestors. I didn't want to commit to a bunch of days like I usually do in case a big problem came up where I would lose it all. I was curious to check what was going on and low and behold, 8 hours later, 24 hours worth of credits and 16 hours worth of power.

And yes, the reduced rate on resource extraction is correct. I say that's an even tradeoff. Not paying maintenance for 1/2 the effectiveness. lol

No, people, the maintenance cost on medium chem and mineral harvesters HAS doubled or more than doubled. To run the medium mineral, it was 1300-1500 power per day. It is now 3000. And yes, it really did use up that much. I do not care what the developers say, that is exactly what happpened and so I pulled my medium mineral. I cannot afford to run it at this time.

This is a bug at least on the Lowca server, and people in my PA say it has happened to their heavies also.

I put 3600 power in my heavys and today , 24 hours later it iswith 1900 ..so i guess its only a display error at least in my server.

Wildki, have you looked at the maintenance screen that tells you how long your power will last? because 3000 power gave me one day on that screen. So is this a bug with the reported amount of time power will last, or is it actually the power use. Because when I put in 3000 power, it gave me one day, 6000 2 days. After that, I just figured it was useless to run it because I was running out of power, only collecting about 6000 a day anyway. There isa bug somewhere.

Do the math! Prior to patch, for a personal harvester, my status said 25 for power. It took me placing 600 power in for the status to display 1 day. NOW it says 50 power and I had to place 1200 in to display 1 day. 3 of my harvesters were supposed to last to last night but ran out of power before then due to bigger comsumption.

Ameeda,

At 1st i though that too, but everyday for the last month i put 1500-2000 power in my heavys and it lasts 24 h.

Patch came and it show 3600 power day, so i put 3600 to check and after 24h it only use the 1500-2000, so its all the same in use only display is wrong thou dunno if it happens same with harvesters made after patch.

It does appear to be a bug with the display. Yes, right now when you put 1200 power in a medium harvester, it only shows 12 hours worth of power whereas prepatch it would have said 24 hours.

However last night I took a stopwatch to test what someone had posted here last night and indeed, its only using half the power that status says it is.

I clicked on status and started a stopwatch at the same time. Status said I had 23 hours 19 minutes 26 seconds of power in my harvester. Exactly 1 minute later (per stopwatch) I clicked on status again and it then showed 23 hours 18 minutes 56 seconds...a difference of only 30 seconds.

So it is only using the orginal prepatch amount of power...the status display and the units/hour is just wrong. Test it yourself, put in and hours worth of power in your harvester and check it after an hour, it will still have 30 minutes left in it =)

Tangle, the reduced rates on newly planted harvesters does seem to be an actual change, not just a display bug. I put down a 1.0 K/H personal vaporator on a 65% spot. After 6 hours, it had pulled up 234 units ( 1.0 * 0.65 * 60 * 6 ).

And when you say it's not pulling credits, do you mean that the maintenance pool isn't going down? It's been my experience that the maintenance is paid in half hour increments, I think at XX:15 and XX:45. It isn't paid continuously like power. So if you checked the status window at 10:20, and again at 10:40, the maintenance won't have changed.

I don't know about all the fancy math everyone is using but I had several harvesters on Rori and they were in sync as far as maintenance and power usage were concerned (both running out at the same time) and when I logged on after the patch the power was now set to run out well before the maintenance.

Ok I am totally confused. I have solar and wind energy at 500 OQ and much less PE. So is it true that the power costs will be doubled because of the 500 or more than doubled because of the PE. And it is ridiculous that power costs have doubled and it is not a stealth nerf.

I think the problem is that power used to be listed per hour and the maintence was only per half hour. So when they adjusted everything they basiclaly doubled the power consumption.
